I'm in Sonoma proper. I saw that there was a meetup scheduled for Napa next month, but it's the weekend when I want to take my wife on a surprise birthday camping trip.
This was an enthralling read. It reminded me of my own rambles in the NorCal backcountry in my old T-100 pickup, right down to the anxious pit bull.
I hope that you've been able to keep flying, friend.
This is a fun, approachable build. I wish that I'd read about the 205/85R16 option before I shelled out for my 215/70R16s! Oh well, next time.
Our builds have similar trajectories, it seems. I'm building up a bit of a worn 2004 BH Outback. Doing the 3" coil spacer lift and brakes and CDL mod...
I'm a big LED lighting nerd, and you really have to do some research when converting.
I'd recommend the sealed beam replacements from JW Speaker, but they're pretty top-dollar.
The big issue with LED headlight bulbs is that while they're bright, they don't have the focal intensity of stock...
I love a Binder build as much as I love a manual transmission swap. This is delivering both in high doses, with a side-serving of really great metalwork. Thank you for sharing your project.
Hi everybody!
I'm Sam, I was active for a while and kinda fell off the face of the earth for the past few years.
A lot has happened, I no longer have my truck. I'm a Dad now. Things are different, but I'm still a superdork extraordinaire.
I previously had a RWD Toyota T-100 pickup that I used...
This is my old RWD Toyota T-100 when I was just starting to really build her up for adventuring. This was taken at Fern Canyon back in 2017, before the lift, limited slip, dual batteries and NWTI bumper.
I'll dig around and see if I have anything from when she was built up.
I really appreciated your sharing this with us all. I love exploring Gold Country and looking for old mines, and this got me eager to get back out and explore.
I will never say no to an SLT:
SPAM, lettuce and tomato sandwich, especially if the SPAM has been fried crispy and is still warm when you bite in.
Homegrown tomatoes and homemade mayo make it a poor person's lunch fit for a king!
I'm really surprised by that, is there anything in particular that you do to keep t up? From what I've read the issue is that the fluid gets hot and kills the oil pump. Are you just being diligent on maintenance?
