    Indiana Members, check in here.

I don't know of any overlanding groups, other than informal, like the one that did the Trans Hoosier Overlanding Route. I'm in a Jeep club on Facebook that does about 20 outings a year. They are looking to do a couple overlanding runs this year. I think this forum thread would be a good place...

    Overland Bound Emblems!

I think you can get another with the same number, if she doesn't want to register separately.

    2004 WJ Laredo

Yeah, I think even 1.5" would be essential, but would do the trick. The springs on our WJ are actually in surprisingly good shape. We're debating, however, a spring vs. spacer lift. The spacer's price point is better, so it may get the nod. I really like the Old Man Emu 1.5, but it is just...

    2004 WJ Laredo

Those look like Wrangler Moab wheels on your WJ. Are you running wheel spacers? What size tires? I just picked up 5 JL Wrangler wheels/tires with only 6k miles on them for next to nothing. The tires are 245/75/17. I'm wondering if we'll have any rubbing issues. We are currently running the...

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

Looks promising! What is the cost of Gaia's service and the app?

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

I'd love to hear more about this. Are there plans for it to be added to Android Auto in the future?

Great video! Man, if I see a Black Friday deal on one of those Garmins, I'm in! Love your truck!

Tailgate Flipdown Tables for Jeep Wranglers

Lol, I had the same book perched on my Tuffy last year! That's an essential piece of kit!

    Coffee Percolators

That's how the Costa Rican coffee growers made theirs when I visited a plantation there a few years ago. They should know what's best!

    New Midland MXT275 (GMRS Mobile)

I just bought a Baufeng BF-F8+ 5 watt handheld radio as a back-up and handheld for off-road spotting on GMRS frequencies. It just happens that it would be a good SHTF radio to monitor HAM and other frequencies, as well. I got it for about 13 bucks on Amazon. I think it was $25 but I had some...

    New Midland MXT275 (GMRS Mobile)

I don't really lose sleep over who might be tracking or why, unless the SHTF. Then I'd try to go dark. If they can still track me, under those conditions, they will have a couple challenges to deal with if they seek me out, if I'm still breathing.

I know getting permission is involved, but how exactly do you access and use a repeater with this radio, and how far can you communicate with it, theoretically and realistically?

To Chainsaw or not to Chainsaw, that is the question

I try to stay out of Harbor Freight because I can't get out of there without spending a bunch of money! The DeWalt claims a single charge is worth 90 4x4 cuts, so that sounds pretty good! With either one, I'd thoroughly test it to determine how many batteries would be sufficient. I'm always...

To Chainsaw or not to Chainsaw, that is the question

Most of the trees I've come across in the midwest are not very big. I don't think anyone plans on having something for every possible scenario, but more aloing the lines of things they've experienced or seen. I do carry a chain so that I can winch or drag a tree that is able to be moved. You...

    New Midland MXT275 (GMRS Mobile)

No worries, and thanks. I've tagged many a branch on that antenna and it has survived, so far. I keep the Midland in the back for extra tight areas or as a spare, too, as well as the itty bitty tiny antenna that came with the radio. As for the privacy codes, I'm aware. I think those guys...

    New Midland MXT275 (GMRS Mobile)

Yeah, I never use them, but they like using them, so they must have had some bad experience with traffic. We will be at Wildcat Creek Offroad Park and I guess it is an anniversary celebration, so there will be side x sides everywhere, so maybe they are pretty smart to do it. I did upgrade the...

    New Midland MXT275 (GMRS Mobile)

Has anyone played with the privacy codes on this radio? I'm off roading next weekend with a Jeep club and they will be using a GMRS frequency with a privacy code. I haven't yet dug into this thing to figure out how to set it up.
