    Ask About Gaia GPS!

Already Voted Chris, Thank you. APRS isn’t a deal breaker yet... but will be in my future if this virus keeps it up.

I went and voted and left my $0.20 worth.

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

The only reason I run GAIA is because BCN isn’t supported on iPhones... I really don’t want to switch back to android.... but if APRS isn’t supported, then I might have to.... unless the new OB 2.0 takes care of it.. I will be sure to make the suggestion...

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

I was wondering if there is a plug-in for using APRS with GAIA like Backcountry Navigator does?

    Exploring Idaho

That sounds like when I am planning my first overnight trip on Mt. Emily... could easily turn it into a day longer if you want... still playing by ear due to this Virus thing.

You speak of “ Turn by Turn” directions... does this work similar the street turn by turn on Wade or similar?

My Ham Shack- Yaesu FT-2900- Icom IC-7100, and a leap into the digital world of radio

I think my old desktop (not that old, but I haven’t seen it in 2+ years) was running a dual boot Windows 10/ SuSe Linux Distro. Pi-SDR... going to look into that... @J.W. great ideas... thanks to everyone’s input... keep the ideas flowing.

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

@OTH Overland Dream rig is a Yaesu FTM-400XDR. Most of the local Ham Clubs guys here run it... so having the APRS system will make things easier to do things with them.

Is Wires still a thing? Or is it now only Wires-X? If wires is still a thing then the FT-2900 has wires capabilities... if not... then a digi radio is out for a month or two...

My Ham Shack- Yaesu FT-2900- Icom IC-7100, and a leap into the digital world of radio

That’s my plan... IF I need it... I’m still researching this converter... so let’s skip over the power supply issue for now. Besides building an antenna, what is some other diy ham projects that would be net in a ham shack?
