I was asking because my 89 had a hand crank on between the front and rear doors... it looked factory, even had a Jeep logo, but was told it was aftermarket on the Jeep forums...
How do I access EchoLink Grits N Gravy on my Yaesu 2900? I know my repeaters freq and node number... but what do I need from here? Or will I get this all figured out after I get setup with an antenna?
@TerryD @Prerunner1982
Ok I see what’s going on... I don’t remember the gauge layout in my cousins ‘88, but do however remember that my buddy’s truck had imperial gauges and markings... also both were blue with white tops, which was also not supposed to be an option for US models... 88 was supposed to be blue on blue...
I have 100’ feet of coax on the way, 10 0259 couplers, and several other miscellaneous couplers... all should be here next week... I will head to the truck stop tomorrow and see if they have any coax.. last time I was in there they had one fiberglass antenna in the cb stuff. The TS is under...
I know my cousin’s was an 88 and he bought it brand new off the lot in Hermiston Oregon in February or March of 1989... and it had a solid axle... I know it had a solid axle because the first thing he did was brought it to me and my dad to put lockers in it... in return I got my first CJ5.
I got my dates right from MOPAR as for the start of the XJ... the 4.0 I knew was 91 or 92... my 88 YJ had a 4.0, but it was a swap from a 97 XJ. I didn’t know anything of the pre 88 XJ transmission/t-cases because I never bothered with them. My uncle had an 84 or 85 with a 4 banger that never...
I don’t have anything Terry... just a radio... I live in a fiberglass house with a rubber roof... I wonder if I could make my tv antenna work for 2 Meter.
Got my radio today, unfortunately even with all the gear I do have already, no antenna yet... back to working on the Bronco... I want my interior done today... I’m tired of not being able to drive.

Sweet ride... I think it should do great... I used to have an Old Wagon.... I miss her and IF I ever get another “Jeep” it will be another <1960 Wagon L6-226
The M38 was the first vehicle I ever drove as well... I remember driving through the fields with my dad beside me as I stood on the seat to see over the wheel... my dad had put a hand throttle in it to govern the PTO for powering the grain auger. Worked great in low range as a cruise control...
I never knew XJ had a body in frame...1983 first year of the XJ was unibody construction... 1983 SJ was the last year of the full size Cherokee... The Jeep Grand Wagoneer ran until 1991 based on the J-10 Chassis (also not an XJ).
The Jeep YJ shared more with its CJ7 Predecessor than any other...
