Snorkels add a prefilter and that is about all they do. If you custom make one, or spend lots of money they help in water crossings, but what is never talked about is raising the exhaust pipe for water crossings.... you need both intake and exhaust to stay out of the water. I’m on another...
You can’t get blister pack GMRS radios... they are .5-1 watt FMRS radios with fixed antenna... GMRS radios are 5 watts and higher, and have more frequencies.
GMRS requires a $70 license good for 10 years, FMRS is no license (like a cb).
GMRS is only good if you are in an area with public GMRS...

The CB will come back in popularity soon... we are entering the next solar cycle, which means long range DX will be more frequent and DXers will be breaking out their squawk boxes... I just set up my 10m antenna and hope to start seeing some activity on the band.
