I wonder what the real differences between the US spec y62 and say, the Aussies y62 is.... I ll bet there's a lot of bolt on mods you could order from down under that would still fit.
Also, nice build! I myself have two Nissan rigs. My 2003 Xterra, and my 2013 Frontier Pro-4x.
With connectors like this, I wouldn't be concerned about the wire gauge it works with, as long as it fits. What you need to look at is the constant Amp rating of the connector. If you're trying to pump 15A through a 10A connector, that's where the heat starts frying it.
I've switched to using...
I was originally going to go with the ovs or tuff stuff version, which is a bit bigger. But the price on this one after the coupon was too good to pas up.
Just under 2k after coupon and shipping costs.
A queen size will be a bit cozy for the 3 of us, but in the next year or two, my daughter will start sleeping in her own tent, and it'll just be the wife and I up there.
I've ordered several of their water tanks. Usually takes AT MOST two days to make it to Idaho.
I used the code to order their Nomad 1300 rooftop tent last night.
Ordered our first rooftop tent last night. We've been talking about it for about 8 months now, and Ironman 4x4 USA was having a 25% off sale on all their camping gear. Pulled the trigger last night. Can't wait to use it next month!
25A DT Connectors are totally overkill, as is 12GA wire, as any fridge worth it's salt won't draw anymore than 5-6A so even anderson connectors are totally overkill. But anything that locks, and doesn't come apart will work just fine.
I replaced mine with locking 25A dt connectors. This way I can plug it into a hardwired pigtail in the X, or reconnect the 12v plug, and run it off a standard 12v socket.
My DC-DC charger is going in the trailer as my current setup works well enough in the X (and I'm space limted, so no dual...
Dude, being parts director has to come in handy. I wish I had that kind of hookup.
I have mine on the passenger side, and my ARB 6.5' awning on the driver's side.
If you ever make it out west, stop by Idaho, and I'll show you some killer spots.
Nice! I have zero idea what shocks I have, but they still work somewhat well. Shackles have been on for about two years now. I. Picked up my sliders from a guy who was building a new set on xterranation.
What size battery did you get? There's an interstate store just down the street from me...
Finished getting all the panel lung on the outer walls today, and got all the edges of the box completely sealed with sikaflex. It's not pretty yet, but all the edges will be trimmed with aluminum to hide the sealant, after its all painted.
Thanks! It's its really starting to come together!
There's still a LONG way to go though. I'll need to wire up the lights, build my exterior switch box (more on that later), get my 10gal water tank in, and tubing run to the faucet, and build a fridge slide.
I'm also starting to think about...
