    Overland trailer.

This is the route I went, but not everybody has the ability to do that, so I didn't suggest it. Mine is constantly being tweaked as we learn things about our setup, and being diy, it makes it much easier to do.

    Cheap Amazon Diesel heater recommendations?

The only real reason I'm thinking of putting it in a box, is for weatherproofing. It's entirety possible that I can just place it in the box for transport, and weatherproof all the connections on the heater itself, and run the controller up into the tent.

Of course I saw your picture. That's basically what I plan on doing. I'm also going to add a second piece of duct for the blower intake, so that I can route that away from the exhaust as well (if need be).

    Overland trailer.

Your cheapest option is the smittybilt trailer, if you can find it. Pretty much everything is going to be in the 8k plus range. I was in the same boat as you, so I ended up building mine. Symmetry trailers out of Wyoming are reasonably priced. Full metal construction, and they can...

    Cheap Amazon Diesel heater recommendations?

I'm not sure I understand the question correctly. They run off of a 12v source. Up to a 12 amp draw. Whether that's a starter battery, auxiliary battery, or a power station doesn't matter, as long as it can handle the initial load, and supply the proper voltage.

I've heard that the vevor units are more reliable, but take that with a grain of salt. Mine didn't like my lifepo4 battery, but with a simple modification, works great. At least, after my initial testing.

    SW Idaho Overlanding

I was just out putting air in the tires, and noticed that my viair doesn't have a gauge on the compressor, only on the line, which complicates things. I'll figure it out though.

    SW Idaho Overlanding

I'm not sure. I don't know much about air lines. This is what I currently have: VIAIR 00025 5 in 1 Deflator/Inflator with 25' Extension Coil Hose, Yellow https://a.co/d/1hCxCFd

    SW Idaho Overlanding

Same! Anybody know of a plug and play coiled airhose for the viair compressors? The one that came with my compressor won't lock onto the valve stem anymore (I have on for my other compressor).

I'm assuming that using a high temp gasket material to help seal the exhaust will also help prevent any exhaust from entering the blower intake. I'm assuming this won't be much of an issue once I get it mounted in the box it's going in.

Second update: Just shut the heater down. Was still going strong. With the exception of what I think is exhaust gas getting into the blower intake, and getting blown into heating tube, I'd say the test was a success. I'm sure with some header gasket sealant, I should be able to fix the problem...

Update: Heater is still blowing nice and hot, and hasn't skipped a beat. Going on 4 hours now.

Testing out the heater with the voltage stabilizer placed inline today. Heater fired right up, and gave me no errors. Gonna run it until we have to leave at about 4:30, and see how it does.

    1999 GMC Jimmy "AT4"

Yeah, I bought a 96 Blazer in 2004, and drove it until about 5 years ago. I still miss that thing. It finally died with 274k on it. I like where you're heading with the build.

Yeah, I figure a 15A supply should work, depending on the voltage output. I'm not planning on putting mine in a case until I verify that it's working like it should, so I'll just be running it off my lifepo4 battery for now anyways.

    RIGd Supply -- Warranty Issue?

While I can completely understand your frustration, there's not a whole lot you can do,if a product is discontinued. If they're no longer making the units, that means they're also likely not making replacement parts anymore. If they can't provide warranty replacement, they likely don't have...

    Cheap Amazon Diesel heater recommendations?

I'm curious how you're able to run it off of a 10A power supply. My vevor unit pulls a bit over 11A when warming up. I've tossed around the idea of picking up a 15A power supply for lots of uses...

    Cheap Amazon Diesel heater recommendations?

This is what I bought. I hooked it to the battery, and put my multimeter on it. It's rated at 20A, but will only pull that while the glow plug is heating up, so it should be more than sufficient. I'll let you know how it works.

Voltage stabilizer came in last night. Outputs a constant 12.39 volts when connected to the battery. I might just put some ring terminals on the stabilizer, and toss it onto the heater over the weekend, and try sleeping in the tent to see how it works.
