I had very similar tires on my Frontier when I bought it. Michelin Defenders. The Pathfinders are a HUGE step up. What tires did you end up ordering.

What I tend to carry seems to depend on whether my wife is coming, kid is coming, or both. I try to keep pretty much everything I need for solo travel in my Xterra at all times. I have a "go bag" that I keep clothes in. I'm still packing it, and making sure it's got everything in it. This way...

I'm not expecting mine to last 10 years of offroad travel. It's more of an experimental platform that I use to figure out exactly what we need in a trailer. Being made of wood means that it's easy to modify for me.

Working on redoing the electrical in the X. Wired up a new relay box, and using powerpole connectors for all the relay switched accessories. I also replaced the 12v socket in the rear driver's side of the drawer system with dual 30A powerpole plugs (with 20A fuses), and added a 25A solar charger.

Most of these are really good points. I've recently learned that it takes a good 10 or so hours of running these things on high to get most of the smell out. Honestly, that could be what I've been smelling (machine oil, and such), and not exhaust fumes. I run it on high for a full day again...
