Not a bad idea to rinse the alternator after a good mudding.
I did some mud last year and my alternator was making whining noises. Had it swapped for a new one
I just bring knives, no guns.
The big one is about 2 lbs, 15"blade.
Great for chopping wood.
Medium one is worn on my belt. Dont really use it, but would for coyotes and such, in case they wanted to attack my dogs.
Then a pocket knife for cutting foods or make feather sticks.
Just ordered an EAG roof rack for my jeep, along with some mounts for rotopax fuel cans.

I live in southern ca so there isnt too much forest to overland other than a few mountains here and there.
Most of the open space is desert.
Could a winch be useful in the desert with no trees large enough for a recovery?
My jeep is pretty much stock, other than the wheel spacer and slightly larger tires (285 70 17).
Got her in 2016, and did some offroading with some friends and also solo.
I am about to order a roof rack basket, along with some rotopax fuel cans, two 2 gallon and mount them to the roof rack...
