    ROAM OR PELICAN?

I have Pelican and Nanuk cases, Nanuk's are made in Canada, eh.? Similar sizes for both, Nanuk latches are different, very positive engagement and they are a little less costly. I picked up a couple of my Peli cases off Craigslist, older models yet still a lot of life left. https://nanuk.com/

    No more generators in California?

I think you guys are missing the point. My neighbors already have battery operated leaf blowers. I still do it the old fashioned way with a BROOM! Probably 80% of people in my Valley have home generators for when the power goes out. I bought mine in 94. So when the gas small engines are banned...

    Fab skills and DIY

I say go for it! You can take a welding class at your local Junior College to sharpen/gain some skills. There is a that sense of satisfaction when you make something, doesn't matter how the welds look, do they stick?

    simple kitchen ideas

You have to figure out how you are going to eat. Do you cook gourmet or backpacker food? Get a backpacker stove(Msr Whisperlight International) and a Stanley cookset some white gas and you are good to go. Going to bear country? get a bear can. I like the Action Packers for dry goods and have...

    High Rock Canyon Attractions

I haven't been to the Black Rock since the mid 90's and unfortunately Burning man has changed a lot of it for the worse, IMHO. There used to be the remnants of a petrified forest to the west of the road, 217, to Soldier Meadows , Used to be able to go into Wheeler Ranch and cool off in the...

    Bed side rack options

Thank you, I'm happy with it and it is still adjustable, all bolted together, no welds, as things might change. Originally I had a RTT on it so plenty strong. I have since mounted a 270° awning on it after some DIY attempts. https://poppageno.blogspot.com/2019/06/awning-on-land-rover-109.html...
