Hi Kevin, Welcome to Overland Bound, Michelle & I are just short ways from you on Camano Island. We also have a Jeep and truck collection that we use for various overlanding adventures. Please feel free to drop us a message if you have any questions. Seems like the weather is finally...
Looking like we will not be making this one as it looks like Eeyore will be stripped down and at the Wrap company for his new coat of armor over that weekend unless schedule changes (again) ...
I can run pretty much anything, typically it seems like far more people have GMRS than HAM on previous trips. Last year we ran GMRS as only a couple of us had HAM capabilities. Pretty short run on the way over, but there did end up being some exploration of local trails on the way home for a...
Tom, Not sure when you are arriving or what facilities/space you have where your rig is stored, but if you find yourself in need of any tools etc. that you do not have on hand while doing your maintenance, drop us a message and we would be happy to help out with tools or space if we are home...
The last set on my JK which were on it when I purchased it felt like they were egg shaped when going down the highway. never tried to rebalance as I replaced the wheels and tires with a larger size. They were C rated and I was not happy with the way the Jeep handled especially with the RTT...
I have K02 on both Jeeps (WJ & JKU) the set on the WJ currently have 55k miles (89k Kilometers) and are getting close to replacement, still plenty of legal tread, but not really enough meat left for good traction in mud. They have never been rotated and all four are wearing exactly the same...
If you have not already found it, there is a good Forest Service website for the peninsula area Olympic National Forest - Maps & Publications The interactive map is a pretty good tool, it allows you to zoom in, click the road or trail you are interested in and it will give you information...
That would be awesome, Once everyone know for sure that they are coming, please RSVP in the Rally Point, and let us know if anyone is purchasing an additional camping spot due to larger rig or a trailer, (Extra 20x20 spots can be purchased at the Rally's website same as the regular tickets.)
I second the Coyote deflaters, have purchased a second set that way I have one set for sand/snow and one set for gravel/washboard. (Keep them in different color cases to make sure I do not get them mixed up) Also added some quick release adapters to the deflaters since I am lazy and...
The 'perks' including investment badge, lifetime access etc. were dependent on the investment tier/level you went for. The original investment site does not list the various levels as the funding closed, however if you log on to your account there it will give you a list of what the perks were...
The igniter has been a issue, at least the left one. Kovea did offer to replace the stove, but we adjusted (bent) the spark wire slightly and it made a big difference. The left side does seem a bit sensitive to how much gas is flowing when lighting, found it works better with the gas just...
It has worked out well, I ordered some 25 Watt heating pads from Amazon, which I placed into recesses I made in the bottom of the battery box. Unfortunately RedARC does not allow their temperature probes to control any of the outputs as it would be nice to have it directly controlled, hoping...
Today's lights and accessories are more efficient than the old 150 watt driving lights of the past, and our alternators much more reliable. You also need to consider how many of your accessories will you be using at one time, we seldom have more than a few lights on at a time and the overall...
I had a the same issue with mine, missed the key orientation first time, and also had to push the connector in a bit extra firm (once I had it right way round of course) to get it to seat fully. Best part is it has been a year and no more issues with plug backing out on washboard roads
We have the RedVision with manager 30 in our 2013 JKU and absolutely love it! Yes the initial cost was significant, but the flawless performance and simplicity of operation made me quickly forget what I paid for it. We have a Switch Pros unit that controls all of the 'vehicle' functions such...
We use a soft shell RTT and do lots of winter camping, in cold weather we end up with moisture on pretty much all surfaces inside and out. We have added a diesel heater to the mix, and when running that all night there is no condensation on the inside of the tent at all, When we get up in...
I second the journey not the destination for the best experience. If we are not hosting a trip with others, almost all of our adventures start with no destination in mind, most with just a general direction and unfortunately a time deadline to return back to the grind. Some of our very...
