This guy builds one... basically if you get rid of the regulator and bring up the rpm's you get enough to power to weld... you can actually run power tools too. Skill saw, angle grinders even light bulbs. DC power is more useful than you'd think. YouTube / Google it.

I like it! I have one almost identical to it that I was gonna use. When I got those used bumpers I mentioned before I also scored a nice 2.5" diameter curved nerf bar that I like just a little bit more so I'm gonna use it instead... They'll both fiction well so it's a matter of preference.

I love this idea, I've actually been thinking about building a fully articulated heavy duty trailer hitch useing a semi truck u-joint for lateral X-Y movement and a hub like that for rotational twist... I have it more or less figured out in my head but haven't drawn it out or given real serious...

I don't. What I actually did was buy on amazon 25 rare earth magnets and just use them to hold some black, grey and white Camouflage fabric. I'll eventually get the magnets sewn in but for now it's a pile of magnets and a wad of fabric.
