US Rocky Mountain 5th Annual JUNE JAM in Buena Vista, CO

We usually have enough vehicles that we break into groups based on interest and skill level. Worst case you could ride along with someone. My passenger seat is normally available. You should love most of the trails inside the Four Mile Travel Mgmt Area.

Perhaps I should just change that. There are all sorts of trails out there. Barring a flash flood, you should be able to get the base camp in two wheel drive. We will find something that suits your skill and comfort level.

It'll be great to have you. Be sure to RSVP if you haven't already. I'm running a full size truck with a stock suspension if that makes you feel any better. I usually disconnect my sway bars when I get there, however.

    Southwest US, 4 Corners--Must See

Most of the amazing off-road tracks of the San Juan mountains will still be closed that early in the season too. It would be a good time of year for Utah such as Moab and the Canyonlands area.

    Camping meet up

I normally do the June Jam event around the last weekend of June in Buena Vista, but I've been dragging my feet this year. Would you be interested in that? Do you have any ideas in mind that you would like to do?

Have you run these trails before? If not, I suspect I've probably run the majority of what you have planned. If I can be of any assistance, please let me know.

That'll be a great trip. Do you know yet which trails you plan to run at each end?

    Amateur Radio Problem

If you have an overhead light fixture in the center of your headliner where you'd be content to put the nmo mount, you don't have to drop the headliner. I've installed dozens of nmo mounts this way back in the days of Mobile cell phones. If anybody is interested in doing this easy method...

FWIW, I took this video from the Corkscrew Pass last year. I share it because it has become one of my favorite spots, but you often won't hear much about it. https://photos.app.goo.gl/95DqfQiHr9VUi8ES9

Engineer pass is the northernmost half of the Alpine loop. The southern half is cinnamon pass that you could do instead of Stony if you wanted to. Engineer and cinnamon meet at the animas forks Ghost Town. (With the exception of the engineer leg that goes over towards ouray and is sometimes...

    CDT Planning for 2024

If you wanted an amazing Colorado side trip, in addition to Stony and engineer passes, you could add California, hurricane, corkscrew, Imogene, Ophir (or Black Bear) and have an amazing trip. In doing this you could visit the towns of ouray, silverton, telluride. If you decide to do this, we...

    CDT Planning for 2024

If you're following Kent's actual route, then you will be going over Stony and engineer passes which will just give you a taste of the amazing four-wheel drive tracks that this area has to offer. I believe mosquito pass was part of his plan, but they bypassed it due to rain. Mid-June through...

Which of the Colorado high mountain passes does your version of the route travel? I know Kent's route did a side trip via Stony and Engineer passes, but only because I begged them not to blow right past some of the best tracks in the country.
