Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I would go for steel wheels, or simply stick with stock wheels, and 33” tires.
My experience:
-DuraTracs are loud on road, but good offroad
-Toyo Open Country are a nice all around
-General Grabber seems to be the tire of choice for Expedition Overland

The ability to air down, then back up is a huge comfort issue, in addition to saving on vehicle wear and tear. Smittybilt makes a decent starter compressor, and there are plenty of air down tools that help automate the process...
Also MaxTrax or XBull traction aids are awesome and have saved me...
That is correct... my circle of friends does not include anyone who drinks... regardless of what statistics say, there are a lot of people out there who don’t drink.

Your own garage... buy an air compressor, a 33 gallon craftsman at a minimum, buy an impact gun, craftsman’s $99 composite is a great starter, and some 3/8” air hose (or a reelcraft or coxreel air hose reel if you wanna go all out)... make sure you pick up a comprehensive set of hand tools...
Check out the Expedition Overland series on youtube... it may give you some great ideas about Overlanding :)
I used to live in SD... whereabouts are you down there, and where will you be taking your truck offroad?
James
You might check out General Grabbers... The Expedition Overland guys realy like them, and they say they are pretty quiet.
I can assure you Duratracs are NOT quiet...
Toyo Open Countrys are great, and quiet, but I imagine the Generals would do better off road...

Regarding bedding: We provide master bedding only (every RV is sold with master bedding anyway, so we leave it in there). Additional bedding is $10/kit. (Honestly most people bring sleeping bags for kids/family)
Paate this into a Google search:
jeep grand cherokee swing tire carrier
If the search results don’t help you, go to Google Images. Find one you like, and follow that link to where to buy it.

I have extra brackets for a roof top tent, and a sliding ladder. Give me a call and we can work through the details and i can text you pics... I sent my phone number to you in a PM.

But parts are smaller, and easier to work with than a full size vehicle. Full size struck breaks in higher denominations than mid size and compact stuff. Plus you need bigger tools because torque values are greater.
For years I only had 3/8” tools for my foreign cars. When I got into full sized...
Doubtful you will notice any difference.
I had my mom’s cabrio injectors rebuilt at a local shop years ago and we didn’t notice anything afterward... it was like $150 to have them rebuilt.
James
That is hilarious!!!
I love scoring used roof top tents... we got one of ours for $250, and the other for $300... a Tepui and a CVT.
I’ll check my PMs and get right back to you.

Tacomas have by far the most aftermarket support for any type of off roading you want to do.
Plus they have fuel injection, air conditioners with r-134a, power door locks and windows, e-lockers if you buy the trd...

I’m the Parts and Service Writer at an RV Rental company. Been in busines 11 years, almost 40 rentals...
Buy cheap pots on sale at wal-mart, target, or kohls, and set them up as a rental set. Make people pay for them. We charge $40/set and include pots, pans, strainers, cooking utensils...
Looks great! Might wanna radius the edges of that table before it catches your leg...
Nice build! Would love to see some zoomed out pics of the whole truck.
