Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I did look at those this past weekend very nice and pretty roomy for a midsized SUV. I am not sure I would opt for the third row seating though it's pretty much for little ones. Congrats on the 4runner!

Thanks fellas some pics of the components
Stock vs Bilstein Steering Stabilizer - I'd say definitely beefier!
This kit is the 2.5" leveling kit with Fox shocks, braces, end links and and tie rods from Cognito which makes a world of difference if you want to stick with IFS and 33" tires. Not...
So 5k vs 7.7k id give up the extra towing capacity for the more off-road capability. Besides for me anyways the burb can handle towing duties better.

Sweet Canyon love the setup. I've been looking at the Colorado Z71 Midnight edition but may hold off for the ZR2.

Highly recommend Cognito steering brace, and Cognito HD tie rods along with the UCA and leveling kit with choice of Bilstein 5100 or Fox 2.0. I recommend the 1.0 lift block to be leveled or 2 " lift block to keep factory rake. Also consider Kryptonite HD sleeved tie rods they come with lifetime...
Not sure the Duramax is even needed to pull the $5k trailer. I have the 6.0 Suburban 2500 with the 4.10 and the LQ4 has plenty of grunt and very reliable 300k no sweat. If you go down that path the IFS is the weak link I'd look to budget 2500 for the lift and beefing up the front end.
Cognito...
Cool very rare to see an Expo built up let alone the EL. What are you planning to do with the rig?

Replaced my 4x4 selector switch on the 03 burb. After using 4wd my information screen would indicate "service 4wd" or a red nuetral light or would automatically switch to 4 low. After using in Tahoe 2x and this past Sunday at Frank Raines the light would come on then go away intermittently...
You can do alot with that budget.
IFS is the weak link on the burb so I'd focus there first.
1. Cognito UCA with shocks of choice Bilstein/Fox
Leveled 2.5"
2.0 lift block in rear
Since your in there idler/pitman arms and tie rods
2. Cognito steering braces - highly recommend these especially...
1. 33" Tires BFG K02
2. Cognito suspension kit 2.5" Fox 2.0 shocks
3. Cognito Steeri
3. Recovery gear straps/d-rings and Curts 2" receiver
For the GM IFS steering braces for the floaty feel when upsizing tires is a must.
I ran into the same delima HID/LED...HID price and LED not that great if using OE housing. So went with some Sylvania ZXE 4300k low beam, fog lights and happy with this setup thus far. Downside is they last only 2-3 years based on reviews I've read. I still may give LED a try down the line.
I was looking at those at my local panpacific really nice setup that can go off road. I am still on the fence though my burb can tow a bigger travel trailer like the wife wants but want something in the rpod size.
