Long term review- Kijaro Dual lock chair

Well I've had these chairs for a little over two years and used them on every outing from the Rockies to the Smokies. On the plus side: 1. cost- reasonable at around $50 2. comfort- 4 out of 5 stars On the negative side: 1. durability- 2 out of 5 stars for rusted fasteners and fasteners that...

    Finished .....for now.

Picked it up this morning, and was well pleased. Guy cut and welded the fenders on and then painted them. All for $80. It tows like a dream with the larger tires/wheels and has about 6" more ground clearance than the GX.

Trying to Decide on Which Roof Top Tent to Buy - HELP!!!

There are RTT's that mount directly to the gutters without the need for a roof rack. Also, aluminum hard shell RTT designs save significant weight and less road height. Food for thought.

    Shorts/convertible pants

Chip, here's a couple of styles of cargo pants for you to consider. The top pair in the photo below is the Kuhl Renegade Convertible, 100% synthetic, DWR treated, legs zip off, lower legs zip open to make getting boots on easier. Super comfy, but pricey @ $100. Bought these last month during...

    More camp kitchen kit

Can't always cook over a fire or open campground grill, and sometimes you want more flavor than a stove griddle. Answer: a Weber Smokey Joe charcoal grill. Tested it out this weekend and 16 bricketts lasted 3 hours. It easily held 5 burgers, or a pack of hot dogs, pack of 6 thighs, or 3 good...

    Quick Lowes trailer update

Fenders finally arrived today., almost a month it took.

What size fridge do I need?

I have a 52 qt ARB and it has been the ideal size for multi day trips. Pay attention how the fridge lid deploys. My one complaint about the ARB, lid always crashing on my head...wish it opened to the side.

    Solo Ranger Firepit

We have the Solo Bonfire loaded on the RTT trailer but it was just too big to store when using our Winnebago Drop. The Ranger solved that problem at 15" in diameter and only 12 1/2" high. Bear was in the photo to add perspective...wore him out. This will be just right for Duraflame logs.

    Quick Lowes trailer update

Fenders ordered from Northern Tool and will be here next week. Found a U-bolt spare tire mount from eTrailer for $12 and mounted it earlier this week. Small steps but still progress.

    Trailer organization

Nice. How much does it weight, WxL, size wheels, suspension? Little more sophisticated than the trailer I pulled behind my FJ.

    Camp Chair

Nice Snowman. got a couple similar to that made by Leki. They're OK on level ground, but a little tipsy on rough ground. Still pretty comfortable and fit in a bag just like yours. Odds are they were both made in the same factory in China.

Great Smokies National Park reopened Saturday...kinda

Roads opened, picnic areas open, but no Ranger Rick and no camping. Our campsite in Wears Valley. Saw 2 bears and 1 bald eagle. Weather was perfect. Cades Cove picnic area Yes it was chilly this weekend, but, wonderful.

I would love some feedback on planning my first real trip-Southeast US planning on escaping the summer heat

DeSoto National Forest Campground on Blood Mountain in N Ga is very nice. Huge campsites. Take Hwy 19 out of Dahlonega, Ga to DeSoto Falls USFS campground. Campsites are really spread out giving you lots of space. CG does have bathrooms and primitive showers(surprise here). DeSoto is probably...

I would love some feedback on planning my first real trip-Southeast US planning on escaping the summer heat

North Georgia mountains. Camped there for many years and always take a jacket in the evenings. High 40's to low 50's at night even in August. Daytime high 70's to mid 80's. Caveat here is elevation. You will need a campfire. Tennessee Smokies not nearly as cool in July-August except Balsalm...

    Retiring the Homer Bucket

Never did like that thing...uncomfortable and took up too much space. Chris Shontz of Venture4wd fame introduced this (Cleanwaste) a couple of years ago in one of his videos. I've thought about it, thought about it, and took advantage of my REI points and pulled the trigger. Weighs 7lbs and...

Using dry ice in ice chest?

I seem to remember that it's not a good idea to have a cooler with dry ice in a confined space. (Gases) But if your cooler were outside and ice was wrapped, it could work. Also, it's hard to find places that sell it. Plain old block ice works well in a Yeti style cooler. It too can be hard to...

    New Fire Pit

Outland Deluxe Fire Pit, (Propane) Last couple of seasons we've run into all kinds of burn bans, and my Solo Bonfire sat useless in it's case. Well, got a decent solution delivered this weekend. First use was a home run...even my wife loved it. It's going to be essential camping gear from...

    Camp Chair

Looking for a collapsable chair for a narrow space along the side of my cabinet in the rear of the GX. I'll be leaving my GSI Firepit Rocker on the RTT trailer, and the new chair would be for a place to sit when on the trail stopping for a break. I took Road's advice and got one of these that...
