Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Same here. I’m interested to hear who unplugs their $900 ARB fridge from their Yeti 500X and dumps it all into a bear canister every night (rocky road ice cream too).
I can’t imagine Marco from Trail Recon hanging the ingredients for some cedar plank ahi tuna with a cilantro mango aoli halfway...
Age-old question that I’m hoping to get a more localized answer to: what is everyone doing for food storage while overlanding/camping in So Cal bear country (specifically Big Bear/Holcomb Valley).
I watch so many videos of people pulling out the mini gourmet kitchen, complete with skottle, a...
I’ve had the water bricks filled for three days to hopefully eliminate some of the plastic odor, and to check for leaks. I put the spigot on the bottom brick to see if the weight of two full bricks on top of it affects the seal. So far, static test is a success.
Just got the 33’s mounted on the rig. Lots of work the past month including new front and rear lockers, new rear hubs, new HD steering gear and more. Now, to just get out and use her!
I'm using a 2" eggcrate memory foam topper on mine. Seems to be fine so far. I bought some fitted sheets to keep everything in place.

They are slightly bigger than the Smittybilt (sized for Tepui), but the mattress topper adds some bulk, and you can always put sheet straps...
I have to believe that tilting to get the last 40-50% out is still better than having to tilt a full jerry can to get even the FIRST 10% out (or having to insert a pump into the can). While my photo shows the spigot in the bottom container, I'll obviously just start at the top and work down as...
I got these on Amazon, but they're available on a few other sites. I'm going to do a static test at home first, letting them sit filled to capacity, probably with the cap end down to see if I get any leakage. Then I'll probably drive around a bit with them filled as well. The spout cap replaces...
Gonna give these Water Bricks a shot. I’ve read mixed reviews: some love them, some say they leak. I like the stack-ability and flexibility to increase or decrease my water capacity, depending on length of trip. They hold 3.5 gallons (13.25 liters) each.
Regardless, at $20 each it’s an...
Excited to join the board. Current rig is a 2000 Land Rover Discovery 2. Done plenty of desert and mountain wheeling in her, and finally decided to make the leap and mount an RTT on her for some overlanding fun. Looking forward to learning a ton from the community.
