Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Unless you have mods on your vehicle to accommodate the hi lift jack, I would nix that item. Yes, they can have their place, but they’re heavy and can be extremely dangerous if one does not pay attention while using it. A good bottle jack and base or heavy duty scissors jack would serve you...
It really boils down to what works for you.
I would suggest starting out as simply as you can for some short trips ( or even the backyard to see what works and what doesn’t ).
You really don’t need all the gadgets and gizmos that are out on the market.
I'm interested to see your evaluation of this unit.
I've thought of doing something similar, but the idea hasn't gone any further than that; a thought...
This is a guy over on Expedition Portal.
I want to get some of his maps, but being the great procrastinator that I am, it hasn’t happened yet.

I’ve always been intrigued as to how bearings were made. Never gave it a thought that they came from trees. I guess it stands to reason then that needle bearings come from pine trees!

Are you referring to the "guide to" feature? I haven't had...
When I’m out on my explorations, Saturday mornings I frequently hear CQ being called on 146.52 for field day ops. Typically it’s pretty quiet otherwise.
Both of you are right. :)
Each has it’s pros and cons.
I just wish the licensing was like a drivers license, where a “ higher class” license allows one to operate everything below it.
An update on my plans for anyone interested; I'll be doing some exploring and camping on Thurs 15th and Friday 16th in addition to this Flagpole run.
At this point, not sure where I'll be heading. Probably figure that out Thursday morning.
Message me if you're interested and we can figure out...
I’m hoping to make it out for this. Seriously considering taking a couple extra days for more camping and exploring. Not sure yet if that would be before or after the weekend.
If anyone is interested in doing this as well, let me know which time frame works better.
I’m contending with a recent development on my ‘17 JKU w/ Ursa Minor top of the dreaded front door water leaks.
I’ve watched a few ewetoober videos of their solutions to the ambiguous cause. I’ve tried a couple of things, without any real progress. Seems a lot depends on how it’s parked...
