  • Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

    Bear country

The Zarges video kind of reminds me of the old suitcase commercial with the monkeys throwing them about. Guess I’m showing my age….. :tearsofjoy:

    Our next project?!?!?!?

That’s pretty ambitious! (And cool!) Want to do one on a CJ7 for me?:tearsofjoy:

MABDR - Anybody Driven It Recently?

Camping options are pretty slim in the middle area between western MD and southern PA. Some of the options are: Greenridge State Park (MD). There are campsites along the forest roads. Not familiar enough to know if reservations are required. Sleepy Creek Wildlife Area (Hedgesville, WV). Wooded...

    Each October

I’m sorry life has dealt you this situation your wife has to endure. Getting old is not for the faint of heart. Misadventures of our youth often add complexity to that. Very cool model. Is that HO scale?

Looks like we’ll be able to make it tomorrow. I’ll be bringing this Kamprite double tent cot in case anyone is interested. $140

    WV trail suggestions

Check out the north side of rt 33, the Second Mt area. Vepco Rd is a fun one, though not nearly as technical as Union Springs. The nat forest interactive map is a good resource for planning explorations.

West Virginia Rally and Ride Feb 26

I’m not seeing anything. Is it because I’m not logged in to fecesbook?

    Balance Beads

I’ve used them on my CJ 7 with 33’s. They’ve worked well. From what I understand, they don’t do well with a vehicle that gets up to speed quickly. Probably why they worked with the CJ. :tearsofjoy: I didn’t use the real beads, though. I did the redneck version and used airsoft beads. Bought the...

Show me a Road Sign.....really any sign...

These stickers are on a door at work. Have always been amused by them. Btw, the doors only have the hydraulic closers on them.

Petroglyphs and Pictographs - Rock Art

Something I've wondered for awhile, just how do we know that a lot of this art wasn't graffiti of the day, much like the side of most railroad cars today? I think it would be quite hilarious to find out a bunch of highly educated scholars were duped into thinking there was some deep mystical...

Appalachian Mountains and Valley - Experiences East of the Mississippi

Unfortunately, and understandably, PL so far only has maps of the more popular areas in WV. I don't remember if this guy is here on this forum, but he has some nice looking maps that I keep procrastinating to buy. https://axlesandantennas.com

Appalachian Mountains and Valley - Experiences East of the Mississippi

I came across this guy's channel awhile ago. He does his exploring via sportbike. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCU7w3_MeCRlEfrVc1JWot6g/videos From what I've seen of his WV based explorations, he likes to run and explore abandoned state and county roads. I have mixed feelings about doing...

I like the way your wife thinks... Do all the PA state park dispersed camping require permits/ reservations?

Appalachian Mountains and Valley - Experiences East of the Mississippi

I've been able to do some exploring of the GW/ Jefferson and Monongahala Forests over the last year and a half. Have absolutely loved it! My goal this year is to get deeper west and south into WV. There is so much to see in this state. I do, however find it frustrating and a bit annoying of...

Warm gloves for fine motor tasks

Hadn’t given it much thought until your question. Perhaps neoprene gloves might be an option. The thicker gloves (like the Reactor Rescue) don’t offer much dexterity, though. https://www.nrs.com/gloves/c5332

    Antenna mounting on a JKU

I currently have my antenna mounted like JeepingMike does. One of these days I’ll get around to relocating it. I’ve had it “adjusted” by tree branches on tight trails numerous times. I went the lazy route and mounted the radio body to the side of the center console by my leg. It hasn’t been in...
