Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
It did nothing for me. I tried all combinations of a) lights and radios coming from fuse block, b) one or the other coming direct from battery, and c) both coming direct from battery.
The noise is over the air, not through the wires. Confirmed this by my handheld. Just bad luck on the LED aux...
Appreciate the ideas but pretty sure the lights themselves are just not really salvageable for this. I've got ferrites now on EVERYTHING and still no improvement. Will just try different lights down the road I suppose.
Just amazon specials.... theyre all essentially the same. The antenna is a Nagoya UT-72 on a magnetic mount. prolly 4 feet from the lights (antenna on roof, lights on hood). Power and antenna wires arent running parallel to each other either. The static is in the air, as confirmed by my...
I think its just cheap LED lights putting out a ton of RF.... I also get some interference over the air to a handheld, not as bad as the onboard unit, but its definitely over the air. :-|
DId you ever get this resolved? I am having the exact same issue with my LED pods causing broadband static into my GMRS Midland 275. I've tried ferrite chokes on every line imaginable, taking power directly from the battery, and still no improvement. Kind of a bummer to have to choose between...
Thanks Im going to have a look, I tried ferrite beads on dang near everything.... no change. Tried running radio and LEDs direct from the battery.... no change. Stumped....
Hey all I just installed my Midland 275 and I am getting reports that my transmit is sounding great. I have the 3db Nagoya UT72 mag mount antenna.
Problem is when I turn on my led lights there's a ton of static on my side. I see the signal meter jump to half way.
What can I do to solve this...
Would like everyone's input on day 1 routing....
After Leavenworth it's 71 miles mostly highway out to the campground, hugging the Columbia River.
There's another route we could go on dirt cutting thru on NF7520 van Creek Rd then NF5800 Tillicum Creek road... To ardenvoir, then back on...
Not here. Too remote and it's not a staffed park or campground (like we like it!).
Have no fear. You can purchase a one day pass online here! You should only need it the Saturday night. Friday night is completely dispersed national forest land. You already own it...
updates: as best my research can find it does look like day 2 should be 100 kosher as grant county states it has opened camping entirely as of June 1. But take note! **QUINCY LAKES AREA DOES/MAY REQUIRE A DISCOVER PASS**. I know a lot of the wdfw managed lands are confusing about where exactly...
positive is tapped in the fuse block via an add-a-circuit and the ground is pretty firmly run to a bolt that is holding the center column of the dash to the floor. i'd presume if it were ungrounded it wouldnt function at all. its only when breaking squelch for weak signals, strong signals...
My Midland 275 seems to be a bit clicky sounding... Almost like a mechanical relay type click, when breaking squelch for weak signals. I'm at squelch level 1. Anyone else get a clickyness like that? Normal?
