Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Ook guys, welcome to the trip thread! Please RSVP on the Rally Point page so we have a rough head count. Any questions, suggestions, or complaints, feel free to drop them here!
@xnooby63 , any suggestions on campsites in the area? Even if I don't camp, I'd like to come hang out at camp for a...
Ok guys, the rally point is up with a new thread for it. Go on over and check it out!

The Virginia West crew is going to do a trip to Big Levels near Staunton, Virginia. There are some people planning on camping as well as some who will just be out for the day. Trail is said to be stock friendly but be aware there are some deeper water holes to cross.

So, meet at 10am, try to pull out of there around 10:30. We'll be on FRS 4 and CB 4 for those with radios. Bring plenty of water and stuff for lunch on the trail. Any other recommendations I should throw in???
OK, so 10am it is! I'll try to whip up a Rally Point. I think it creates a new thread so everyone keep an eye out for that. If I can link this one, I'll try to do that too. Everyone check in so we know who to expect!
As much as I'd like to go, I'm not going to be able to make it this year. Hope everyone has a good time out there! If you come by Covington, Va to get there, give me a shout!
I'll be heading to the Roanoke Hamfest Saturday morning. Hoping to get there about the time they open the gate at 8am! Give me a shout if you'd like to tag along!!!
My wife loves the generation of Pathfinder that paralleled the second gen Xterra but these new minivans with Pathfinder written on them is very sad. I considered a Pathfinder when buying the Xterra but the solid rear axle and slightly smaller size won out.
Looks like a solid plan. You might want to check into using a set of the Bilstein 5100s with Alcan rear springs instead of the OME kit. I think long term, that setup might stand up better for you. The OME springs don't seem to live very long under the second gen Xterras.
I'm looking forward to...
That's a nice spot, but not the one I was talking about. The one I meant is just to the left of the trail next to the creek. It's just wide enough for a couple trucks to be backed into. I might have a picture of it somewhere on here...
Photobucket happened. They decided to start charging to post your photos on forums. They pretty much broke 90% of the forums out there when they did that. ALL my previous build threads are now pictureless and I'm not sure it's worth the hassle to fix them at this point.
OK guys, what time does everyone want to get together? If we can settle on a time I can try out the rally point app and get some info out there for everyone!
I'm looking for one of the Android units for my Xterra as well. I've found a few on Ebay and Amazon with good reviews but I've yet to pull the trigger on one. I like the idea of the backup camera ones since it's not unusual for me to have enough stuff in the back of it that I can't see out the...
The used Toyo prices are what put me in an Xterra as well but I love mine! Glad to hear you got the two big things that plague the earlier 2nd gens taken care of. Check out TheNewX.org for LOTS of good tech on them. There are write-ups for about anything you want to do to a 2nd gen Xterra there...
