Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Looking for tips on best trail guide books you guys are using.
Heard "Guide to California Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails" was a good one, so I have that one in my amazon cart. Would love to hear what you guys are using to route plan. I do have GAIA GPS also for digital.
Really want to make this trip. I need to get a camping trip under my belt to get the confidence up. I haven't done it since I was a teen. It's just a matter of sacking up and doing it, and knowing it won't go perfect but it will be fun, lol.
So after the meet-up many expressed wanting to do a trip out to the desert. One thing I have been really wanting to see is the Desert X art installations.

The more I researched, the more I see many of them are not really "Off Road" most are drive up and easily...

One last thing, it was brought up if there was an Overland Bound group on FB. I checked, and there are regions already up but no West, California, or Socal. I can start a SoCal one if you guys want? Many mentioned they don't spend much time on the forums and that FB would work better.
What I found:
Great meeting everyone and a really good turn-out for a first time. I will pick out a date for the next one, as mentioned before I will do this one on a Sunday. Did the time work well for everyone? Also, I think parking will be in front of the Ethan Allen, same parking lot just over a bit. the...
I plan on being there no less than 2 hours. I will stay as long as people keep coming by and having a good time! If you want, shoot me a PM and you can text me to check before you head over.
Absolutely! I know they are in Orange County, I saw a rad 4rnr this am on Bake Pkwy in Irvine. I know we have good amount of folks who overland in OC. Stoked, maybe we'll even attract some new folks while we're out there.
