Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Welcome! REI next month is still on. Great to have another full size, numbers are growing. There is also a simi valley meet-up next weekend. and if I remember correctly there is a group doing a Toyota Museum next month as well...
They are such a special breed, especially the retired racers. They are unlike any other dog I have had. Glad you got to experience that and give a greyhound a good home too :)
This Lana, short for Svetlana. We picked her up 4 months ago, she was 2 months. She's now 6 months and aside from being a handful is a ton of fun! We can't wait to start taking her on adventures with us. She's part greyhound and part borzoi (russian wolf hound, hence her name). We got her from...
Here's my '16 F150. No significant mods yet, I have been pleasantly surprised by its ability and clearance in stock configuration. Long list on deck though.
I do the OC meet - up, if you guys did one like PB or north I would love to drive down and I am sure others would too! I am always down to meet at any Lolita's shop too! :)
Also, for the LA region and another truck owner, follow this one. They meet in Simi valley every month, next one is on the 20th:

For sure! Agreed, great to see another full-size truck owner. To keep up with what's happening follow this thread, this is my Orange County meetup and events thread:

If you come in from Silverado Canyon instead of Holy Jim you can avoid the rock garden. Take the trail all the way up to the Santiago Peak on Main Divide. Good local trail with a great view.
Not admitting this is likely why the decision is so difficult. I think you're right, that regardless of where I end up I should start with what I have and in this case what I know I like. I do truly enjoy my F150, everything about it is what I want in my daily and when I am not out adventuring...
Power is my biggest concern, I am currently sitting at 340hp/360lb of torque. I think the Fj depending on the year is a good 80hp below that. I worry that it will struggle with big tires and a load. I agree a supercharger may be a required add-on. Even at my current 340/360 I worry about big tires.
I actually did consider the gx early on, I heard really good things about it. But the aesthetics of FJ caught my eye. I think I were to go this route I would opt for the Landcruiser or L470, more interior space seems like a good trade-off considering what I am coming from.
Fair point, to be honest, the few trips I have been on, I have not encountered a trail too narrow that some careful driving couldn't navigate. Always good to have someone that can be the sherpa, lol. I am in southern CA so these desert trails are usually wide enough, and traveled enough.
I did...
I sat in one, haven't test driven it yet but I agree. The front was roomy and comfortable. Everything looked good and well made. And I "think" I can make the space work.. It's my wife, myself, and the dog.
This is something that I am definitely waiting to see. I am hoping he will be at the...
