Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I zip-tie my d-rings. Doesn't do much for thieves, any knife will cut it but it does stop some kid with sticky fingers or from working loose and becoming a deadly projectile on the highway. I run the zip-tie through the eyelet of the screw/pin and then through the shackle, keeps the pin from...
I am parting with one of the most bad ass bikes I have ever built. Spec build is over 10k, it is lightly used and will be selling for 5k firm. Listing here first before I resort to craigslist with a lesser build spec. This is about as high end as it gets. if you're not familiar with anything...
I am not towing. I do want to haul my gear without the need for a trailer. Hence my latest arrival. I am leaning towards keeping my truck and going for a much lower cost second/smaller vehicle for tighter trails or shorter runs. Longer trips I think nothing is going to top the payload of my...
Welcome! You'll find plenty of San Diego folks and Socal in general here. Check out the "West" section of the forums for more local chatter and gatherings.
OB - WEST
I think I have arrived at a decision, If I don't keep my truck and possible even if I do. I plan o getting a used LC or LX470. Now comes the decision of best year to get... older with a locker or newer with 5speed and ATC?
Hey, welcome from Aliso Viejo! Like terry mentioned we're having a gathering on June 11th at the REI in Tustin! Look forward to meeting you.
Orange County Meet-Up
FWIW I saw Tepui is having a 40% Demo/Blem sale on the 27th. I think it's pick up only at their HQ in Soquel, CA though. I saw it on their Instagram account.
I have always had great luck with BOSCH. I have tried others, Goodyear, RAIN-X, Michelin but none have cleaned as well or as even as the Bosch blades. Every time I have strayed, I have spent more and regretted it.
Weekends are the plan as of now. Seems to work better for everyone. The location I may change on a quarterly basis, if there is demand for North vs South or East vs West. I will keep this thread up to date for sure. Have fun on your camping trip!
Totally understandable! We will be increasing the frequency of these meetups since the interest is growing quickly. So you will have plenty of opportunity :)
That's awesome. Based on what you have in those pictures and the trails you mentioned, there isn't anything tougher (Last Chance being on of them) I'd be all that interested in doing. I really have no interest in rock crawling, I want to get to a place to camp and take in the scenery. Tougher...
As it sits right now, 2016 F150 Super Crew with a 5.5' bed:
My wheelbase is 145"
Width 79.9" (w/out mirrors)
F&R Track width 67.6"
I mentioned the Taco and 4R widths above. Didn't check their track width, mostly because at the end of the day what you can squeeze through is what matters. You...
The F150 I have now so I am in the process of figuring that out. I won't pull the trigger there unless I am certain. I will say the F150 market here is not bad, especially for a 4x4. I will say the idea of being able to use/build then turn around and sell for even money or maybe even a slight...
If you want something cheap and still quality your best bet is the Yakima BedRock IMO.
https://www.yakima.com/bedrock-2
I have spoken to Yakima reps at length and the bars as sturdy as any roof top solution, and you can mount any accessories by Yakima or other brands since they are standard...
