Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
That is still unknown. But removed from the Mojave Road, and its context, it becomes just a junked bus. Not sure its history can be preserved without its location. Their significance is tied together, imo.
So sad, I had just done it a month ago and wrote a story on it. I got some great feedback from so many people inspired to head out and see these things on the Mojave Road. Bummer. I get it to some degree it's just trash, a junked bus. And anywhere else, or in great volume, it would be. But on...
Makes sense, it's the same technique they use in server farms to keep dust out. Although I am skeptical a car AC can generate that kind of pressure. I guess it depends on how many holes ya got!
Weather is looking good with no rain today through the weekend.
Temps will be the low 61-62 for the highs
37 overnight, it will be chilly.
Winds up to 20mph overnight, starting to pick up around 5pm.
For those camping, bring firewood. We will use it all.
Sorry to hear it @Whiteknuckler, if you haven't already, please make sure to change your RSVP on the Rally Point so the spot will open up.
Thanks, and hopefully see you on the next one!

Oh wow. Well, I guess nothing lost, just some frustration. Sorry man. We'll do another one, hopefully see you on that one. Don't forget there's a meet-up in Irvine on April 7th. That's also on Rally Point now. https://www.overlandbound.com/event/oc-overland-bound-monthly-meet-up-2/
Very cool. Bummer the road is in such bad shape, I am taking a group out there this weekend. I did it a year ago and the road was pretty well maintained back then, guessing winter hasn't been kind. We're all in now so we'll make due with what we're dealt, lol. Glad you had some fun with your boy!
Note to all, as of right now rain is forecasted for Thursday/Friday. Hopefully not much (even though we need it). If it does get a bit out of hand we may need to change the meeting point in order to avoid Red Canyon Jeep Trail. Parts of it are in a wash that I fear maybe be impossible due to...
