Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I've mounted several, single compressors under hoods. Heat doesn't seem to bother the ARB compressors, unlike the VIAIR I had under my hood. I mounted my double ARB compressor inside the passenger compartment on a bulkhead of a secure compartment. The compressor's not that loud, If you...
I like the idea of option #2. I also would like the idea of a shelf across the back at the bottom of the rear windows. But it would depend on the size of the cargo. Ron
Very nice work. I had fender issues when I built my trailer, I cut mine and made them longer. You could split the fender and widen them. I bought an extra fender and cut it for parts. Again nice work, Ron
Wow, I didn't know cj's could have a radio that worked normally, let alone a screen. I use to mess with my riders, I told them it was a passenger entertainment feature to try to keep it on the channel. Great work, Ron
Welcome to the forums and the adventures. I recently took a vacation, first in a long time, to Colorado. A friend and I drove our jeeps to Colorado springs to see his son(air force). we traveled to the great sand dunes national park, highly recommended. There's camping, the dune, and a...
I tend to be extremely anal about someone stealing my trailer. I can remove the draw from the trailer tongue, with the lock reinstalled, I chain the tires through the wheel around the spring, I remove the jack and replace with a dead leg, so you'll have to have a jack or lift the tongue...
I'm presently in Colorado springs, on a vacation and parts hunt. I went to Fnjeep, a used jeep parts store. His frame prices are and I quote nothing over 500 dollars. I purchased a frame for 300, no rust, it had been modified. Which is ok, cause I'm going to cut off the stock motor mounts...
That's a lot of progress. The brown/black wire at the alternator is used to turn on the charging light on the dash, you can cut it and not worry about it. The starter solenoid wires, one comes from the ignition switch, the (S) terminal. The other is used to feed the ignition system during...
I cut the wires at the fire wall, removed the radio and pulled them all. We are talking about the wires in the middle of the vehicle, NOT the ones on the drivers side in the black box. The computer mounts on top of the heater box on the inside. Sorry I can't provide pics. Ron
My YJ was carb'd, I swapped to a weber & HEI. You can eliminate 75% of the wiring just in the computer controls. You need to trace out the wiring harness from the fire wall up the left fender, this is the front lighting harness. This can be repaired without major consequences. The other...
Looks to be a solid ride. It'll be more than worth the time, when your daughter drives it. Besides, you'll eliminate half her boy friends, most won't be able to drive a stick. I've used Lysol spray to disinfect the surfaces, It'll be a great ride when you're done. Ron
I paid $150 for my 8274 with a heavy a## chevy truck bumper, Now I have $400 in it after the rebuild, including new cable. I'm sure both winches will serve you well. For the classic look, the 8274. The m8000 will perform when needed. Either way, you can carry them around for years, and not...
