Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

After installing the lift a portion of the factory UCP was not going to fit without some modifications. The UCP has served me well for almost 10 years on two different H3s but had seen better days. While there are definite pluses for the ladder style design there were also cons such as it was...
I get where you are coming from. We have to drive about 10 hours to get to any kind of event and further to get to the really good events. Took a week off to go out to Moab several years back, 5K mile round trip with several days of wheeling in 10 days about killed me on long trips like that.
Ozarks would be a good option. A couple of rigs from my normal overloading group did an Ozarks overland challenge last spring and won. Looked like it was a lot of fun. I'm actually from KS so wouldn't mind something there either but it would be a haul from central FL.
It might help that you know the dealer but once you start wheeling it the aftermarket warranty companies become real good at denying claims. Not saying don't get one but do your research, they are not all the same.
Actually here is an article from Four Wheeler (don't recall the issue) about the trip with some more info if anybody is interested.

We did an overland trip through VA and WV back in '14, it was great. Our trips tend to be a road day with as much dirt as possible to reach a destination such as an off road park or forest. Play for a day then road day the next. Rinse and repeat. One of the roads along our route was supposed to...
Saw them mentioned in another post and checked them out. Love the idea and saw they offer licenses if you want to use their plan to build and sell their designs which is cool. Just wish they had something that would work for me but those are few and far between.
I get cabin fever the opposite time of year than you. It's too cold out to enjoy for your now but come summer it's just too hot and humid to want to be outside down here
Welcome from another Floridian. Do you miss Colorado? Totally different world down here. I never lived there but used to spend at least two weeks a year out in CO and miss it.
Have been thinking the past several days this is something I need to start looking into. Being in FL I wear shorts and short sleeve shirts probably 325+ days out of the year. We have a overland trip coming the end of February in which part of the goal is to get some snow wheeling in. I need to...
That was my thought at well. If you do just realize (varies by state I believe) that you will have to go through an inspection to get it tagged again.
This is one of my biggest fears, having mine get totaled. There is just about zero chance I am going to find another alpha/adventure equipped...
I am impressed your getting the same mileage. My wife's commute is all city streets with no highway so that could be a factor but great mileage for a 5.0. I get more like 12 mpg with the 5.3 in my truck due to all the mods but my DD gets 21 city so it works out
