No overlanding for a long time

I'm now able to get into my jeep with using a folding ladder l I'll be able to drive in 1 week, but will be a while til I can go overland. Can't lift more than 10 lbs, so I can't lift my cases full of camp gear onto my roofrack. Still hurts to even wash my hands lol

No overlanding for a long time

Thanks everyone for the kind words, I'm truly blessed. Yeah recovery is going to be a long road. About a month til I can drive myself, but maybe several months before I can overland. I'll definitely have to replan my fall/winter camps.

    Big Bear trail conditions?

I live up here and it's very rutted out. It's passable, but with caution.

No overlanding for a long time

I just received a new heart, and it was extremely rough! Because my chest was cut open, it will be a long recovery, and can't even sit up front of the vehicle for months. Small bumps hurt, so I'd imagine no offroading for a long time. Sad because I planned a cool seqioua trip with my wife, my...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Went wheeling on a trail near home, since it was raining lightly. Weird to get a storm in July in socal, but loving it.

Toyota Finally bringing Prado to US

Just an opinion, it looks horrible.

    Overlanding with an EV

I'm not a fan of EV. Rented a tesla, and while they're cool, finding a charge station was a pain, half the stations i found were not operating or closed, and waiting in line was even worse, not to mention waiting an hour to charge. Not for me. I can't imagine how you'd do when on a trail and...

    Overlanding near sequoia

No I haven't yet, I was told there's still a lot of snow there and some of the trails are impassible.

It should be renamed, to fireroad hunter.

    How would you start over?

My jeep was rear ended last January and when they cut the check, I got another jeep with a turbo diesel, added a 3.5" lift and 37s. What I always wanted. Previous jeep had a 2" lift and 33s, was good but not great. Now, I can go where most can't, which is exactly what I was going for, I...

    First solo

I usually go solo, since I work weekends only. It's nice going solo and having no plans, just explore at my leisure. We have bears and lions here too, but have 2 hunting dogs. Once, in Utah, a lion and her cubs were circling my camp at 2 am (toquerville falls) and she would not leave for at...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

    Overlanding near sequoia

Having nothing planned yet. Many told me the Northside is better for overlanding but couldn't give me directions or places.

Need some overlanding suggestings near sequoia

I want to take my fiance to see the huge trees, as she's never been before. What are some good overlanding areas we can camp at, and still be somewhat close by to the park?

    Overlanding near sequoia

In a few weeks, I'll be heading towards sequoia. Anyone know of some good camping spots, away from campgrounds? Preferably with no one around? I was pointed towards the north side of sequoia.

Is the Overlanding community killing itself

I kind of avoid 'overland' products, they tend to be overpriced and seems unnecessary for good old camping. I just bring camping gear, and my jeep does not look like the apocalypse is upon us. I do, have a battery and powered fridge/freezer. I see a ton of rigs here in socal (mostly 4runners)...

    Bigfoot

I did when I was younger. But with trail camera and drone technology, not a chance.

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

Nothing overland related, but some stickers for the rig. I get them in black for the windows, I like the subtle look. I have one so far, just the tip. Next purchase will be spare relocation mount, and a regear. (4.56)

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Neighbor said their dog was missing and last seen on this trail close by. Went to go look, holy shit the trail was incredibly rutted out, jeep was nearly sideways in a lot of spots, next to big boulders, and almost got stuck in a deep spot with 2 foot depth of snow/ice. Had to reverse out and...
