    Snorkel, water.. Why?

Like others I installed the snorkel primarily for dust and heat but also for the added insurance of those "Oh Sh!t" moments. I have extended my breather lines and done some other precautions. I can deal with some electronics getting when and the interior though I don't want it to but I don't...

If you could change/re-do one modification

That's a bunch of BS. You should not have to deal with stuff like that from a reputable company. I would be regretting that mod as well. I also don't take your comments on hating on the company, just honest feedback on your experience which people should know.

If you could change/re-do one modification

Surprised you are having issues with the finish on your Purple Cranium. I have been running one on mine for 6 years and no issues with it. I did get a good deal on mine so no regrets but can see what you are saying. Overall I can't think of any mods I have done that I regret. I have had a couple...

    Orlando

Bit further drive for you to hit Ocala or Citrus but not too far. Nice rig, what year?

Do you need bead lock wheels for overlanding?

Yeah, you shouldn't need much more clearance. I have always been shocked that you need it at all. Was lucky, I could run 35's stock but what lifts were available for mine were also a whole lot more due to the smaller market.

Do you need bead lock wheels for overlanding?

Happy to help whenever I can. I think you should be fine and you will notice a big difference just dropping to 20 psi. Unfortunately you have to run a lift to run 35s don't you?

    scan tools

I am running Dash Command on my iOS devices connected to a bluetooth OBDII reader. I primarily use it to read the trans temp but can setup gauges for most anything I want. Unfortunately for a iOS compatible bluetooth reader you have to spend a lot more but you can use a wifi one for less than...

Do you need bead lock wheels for overlanding?

Tire and rim size combination is going to be a factor. The lower profile tire the less you can air down before your risk of damaging your rim increases. For example I can air down my 35s more on my 16" rims than somebody could with 18" rims.

Do you need bead lock wheels for overlanding?

Yeah, at at quick glance the H3 and the JKU can look pretty similar.

    Worst stuck

@Daniel Etter I have no idea why they went so big with those. I am doing a spring over in the rear and that's when I will change out the hangers. Will post in my build thread when I do. I have the Tomp low profile shock mounts and have been very happy with them.

Do you need bead lock wheels for overlanding?

I rarely even consider looking at 4 wheel parts when shopping for items. It's not that they are bad but I can usually find things cheaper and since I don't have a Jeep they don't have a lot for me anyway.

What Trail Condition Do You Fear The Most?

I would say muddy ascents or descents with little or no control probably top my list especially on shelf roads/trails. Second would be off camber but my pucker alarm goes off well before I am really in any danger. I do feel a lot better about them since I moved most of my tools and gear from a...

Do you need bead lock wheels for overlanding?

Are they necessary? As other has said absolutely not but there definitely advantages to having them. You can safely run at 15 PSI or even a little lower on a standard wheel but there is always a chance of losing a bead. I run at 10 psi or lower and enjoy the extra traction let alone the...

    Worst stuck

I think the lockers could have made the difference but had to say not being there and knowing as you mentioned how much weight was on the front tires. Looks like the big problem was those huge from leaf spring hangers. Couldn't tell you how many times I have got those hung up on something...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Nice, what year? I have a '74 Half Cab I need to get started working on.

    Food & Water

I have been very happy with my Dometic 50 quart. Did a lot of research before buying and what put me over the edge was reading a shootout done of the top 12 fridges in Australia. The Waeco 50 quart which is the Dometic 50 quart here came in number two behind the ARB. For about 50% more than the...

Corey's 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Build

Yeah, I was glad mine just backed out. It's not really secure from being stolen but I suspect just being there will prevent the vast majority from even thinking about trying. Those that will try with a lock there could probably get it off even if it didn't back out otherwise they wouldn't bother.

Corey's 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Build

I'll have to check out Jackcovers.com as I need a new cover as well. I have Prime so the shipping often offsets the price. I was lucky with mine, it actually unscrewed the stud it was locked to. I new at the time it wasn't total secure even with the lock but it keeps honest people honest. I will...
