Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Starting of the JL build.
Dual color and flashing light bar. Auxbeam.
Works well, but isn't the brightest light.
Survived snowmageddon.
New tires!
Mickey Thompsons Baja Legend EXP 37x12.5x17
These are excellent tires. Do great on most terrain except deep slushy snow, but nearly all tires...
Some pictures from around the last time I posted 4 years ago.
Big bear, CA
Anza borrego
Ecoflow delta 2 (220 watt solar panel) and jackery 500 (100 watt solar panel)
Times I've gotten stuck
This one out of nowhere. Was driving on some grass in some canyon, suddenly my jeep just drops all...
Wow it's been 4 years, I just figured out how I can find threads started by me haha!
My JK was going great, going on 7 years, nothing major other than an alternator that I ruined and a fuel pump going bad, all under lifetime warranty, surprised they installed a new alternator as I caked it with...
I went with a hybrid tire (Baja Legend EXP), so it has mud lugs outer tread and AT lug center tread.
They're reasonably quiet, louder than ko2s and much quieter than KM3s. The music on low volume is enough to drown them out. My wife hated my KM3s, but she's not bothered by the baja legends...
The cross bar is a good idea.
I wanted the solar on the freedom top so I could be always charging when the sun is out.
I have a folding solar panel too, I could maybe plug both in. I'm guessing I'd need both panels to be about the same wattage.
I want to mount a panel to my jeeps freedom tops, probably not permanently, something that will not be blown off, but something that can be removed when not camping.
Any ideas?
100 watt panel seems the appropriate size.
When I go camping, I use 2 large Plano cases so mounting to the rack won't work.
New pillar pod lights.
Plan on doing all morimoto lights.
Fogs and headlights next. The stock leds are good though, so on the fence still.
Bumper lights
What is tie down ears?
I currently use Plano cases and used ratchet straps, but broke 2 cases when I wheeled a little top fast and hard. I think they weren't strapped down tight enough, never had an issue before.
I plan on getting the same Plano cases, as I haven't found any in that dimension...
I think the hybrid only makes sense for driving short distances to work.
I rented one for over a week and was not impressed. It wasn't bad, but my diesel was getting more mpg on 37s than the 4xe on stock 32" tires. Also more torque at the low end is nice.
I've wheeled 3 days, and was averaging...
Was tired of my car and wanted something 4x4 so I didn't have to camp at campgrounds, never liked camping anywhere other people are around, I don't even want to be in visible range or audio range. So a modified 4x4. 3.5" lift with 37" tires.
Joined some forums, and that's how it began.
Some random tools.
Gmrs radios.
More usbC since old ones crapped out.
I'm not sure what I plan to buy next. Maybe a vacuum to keep tidy on longer trips. And also a 8" electeic chainsaw.
Got my rotopax ready.
Put a spout on the water container.
Waiting for billet nozzle and cap for the fuel container.
Will be installing vent caps when the new nozzle arrives.
Going to be mounted on side of hardtop on driver side.

Hello, I'm looking for some advice/knowledge.
I ordered 2 light pods and 2 pigtails. I want to wire them directly to an aux switch.
Will the pigtail be enough or do I need an entire harness with switch and relay?
I believe the aux switch has power and relay already wired, so so could some...
I love knives. I bring at least 5 knives when camping. Just because.
2 kitchen knives (chef and paring).
1 outdoor knife (for wood and miscellaneous)
2 pocket knives (wife and I use it as a steak knife)
Also a spear, for fun and defense against a coyote or lion. It's fun throwing it at...
