Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
ha.. I was told they close them for hunting..A coworker said he camps during the summer months and he can get further into woods because gates were open.. This is between Kinzua dam and Cooks forest areas..
I think this will be postponed. I just made the executive decision to go to the M & G next weekend. Sorry guys. Someone else can take the lead though. Also, I heard the gates are closed for hunting seasons. Soooo.
We purchased the gravity fed solar shower bag.. Still have yet to use it. I've seriously considered one of these tubes..for ease of carrying.. I also would probably use fuel cell foam to put into the tube to help prevent the water from sloshing around as much while driving around..
@Zeroviz...
Have you looked at any alt routes? In the link I posted right above, of satellite viewing, zooming in, I see a lot of roads, trails that criss cross. One that got my attention is called Lookout Trail.. Located just west of Kane Marshburg Rd, RT 121 east of Ludlow..
I started looking at this satellite view.. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Allegheny+National+Forest/@41.5972563,-79.2272062,139268m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xf07b8e42353dcfd3!8m2!3d41.6487827!4d-79.0061464 I see a lot of dirt roads when zooming waay in.. I guess I'd just need to figure...
That's great.. could be a route that would offer overnight camping? I see in a few of the links I shared, they have info for camping but didn't look at it..
Welcome aboard JamieF.
I'm still undecided on if I'm doing the Meet & Greet on Oct 5th weekend.. I may have an overnight hike I'm going to do sometime between the 5th and 21st..Sooo, with that, are there any thoughts on a date? I'm not positive. My work weekends are going to be touch and go for...
This one.. I reread through it..https://www.overlandbound.com/forums/threads/christmas-new-years-day-trip-in-alleghany-national-forest-o-a-29dec2017.11203/
I like that style rack.. My "issue" is that they are too low. I like to use the bed. The rack I built is flush to the top of the cab..I also have the DECKED system so with your rack, I wouldn't have any room..lol.. But that's just me..:smiley:
Kinda like the ride that was done during this past winter.. Is there any interest in doing one? My wife and I have seriously been considering it. We want to get a few local people involved. Thinking of an overnight or possible weekend venture. I didn't go on the winter ride but would that same...
This is a 6 hr drive for me..I can't find any info for pricing on the web.. I too am curious about the dog friendly camping.I'd like a little more info before committing..
was trying to figure out what to do with the bed on my '16 Tundra.. I didn't want a fiberglass topper. I liked the CanBak {but not the price for my application} and I thought of a Softopper but didn't think it'd be able to hold additional outer framework for "stuff".. Sooo, I built my own..I...
