Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
The northern part of the Outer Banks National Seashore down to Hatteras and free ferry across to Ocracoke are designated campgrounds only. Shouldn't be a problem getting a spot this time of year. Driving on the beach with a permit not much problem this time of year. The southern end around...
I got it directly from Tuff Stuff. It is custom made for the ALPHA with velcro in the right spots. I see them for both sizes. They weren't available when I first got mine...
ALPHA nice! Had mine for six months or so and just got the anti-condensation mat. Multiple days in cool moist weather will cause moisture between the floor and mattress to build up. It was getting to be more trouble than it was worth to raise the mattress while open to let it evaporate. Check...
I've been using one for a couple of years now and I like it. Easy to setup/breakdown and reasonably small for truck camping. Been thinking about a 5 lb tank but the 1 lb does good for weekends. Rarely do I use more than one burner because it's usually just boiling water. I usually carry a...
I am enjoying this isolation a little too much me thinks. Not having to deal with as many people, most days none at all, on a day to day basis has been a very pleasant experience for me. I guess I have always been a "friendly introvert". I don't avoid social situations and have a few friends...
Anybody can find some woods and plop down. Getting lost is something of an art form. Some are born with the skill. Some even have to reduce themselves to drugs and alcohol just to keep up. Looks like you have some affinity for the out of the way! :grinning: Keep up the wanderin' pilgrim!
I like the side access. I have many sized dry bags and the problem with the larger ones is that inevitably what you need is near the bottom. Side access would be helpful. Clear ones are also helpful when my old brain is trying to remember what is where!
MOST of the dust. I have used some gorilla tape over the small cracks in the bed liner. Still need to do a few more but the cover is well fitted with good rubber gaskets. That said, there is still a small amount of water (and dust) that may get through. So small it's never been a problem. The...
I had a similar setup but wasn't too comfortable with it so I got a cheap chain hoist from HF. Now I don't worry about dropping it on my head. I don't really take it off much any more though.
I have a Diamondback bed cover that locks with RTT on top of that. Also, some theft deterrent nuts for the RTT. I took the backseat out of the double cab for more storage and try not to leave anything visible but even the best prevention won't stop a pro thief or determined vandal. I don't...
Pulling a boat sometimes makes A RTT a big plus. It's also very comfortable and the hardtop version is the only way to go since it's much easier setup and takedown. I solved the midnight nature calls with a good screw top jug. I have setup a small tent before to stow my things and keep my...
I'm mostly into fishing, camping, and going places I have never been. Not so much into FB and social media. PM me with ya'll's plans and I'll try to meet up.
