Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Negative. I just looked up what you mentioned and it looks like they’ll be driving right by the spot I’m planning on, so we’ll wave! Current attendee list is just a couple of friends and a couple of old coworkers right now, nothing too huge or out of control. Probably stay until after sunset...
WABDR looks cool, do you have the plan documented yet? I’d be interested in seeing what the plan is and passing it along to my wife to see if she’s interested.
Honestly, exploring somewhere new is cool to me. I found two camping trips via some Facebook groups someone recommended to me. Talking to the wife to see what she’s interested in.
Passed on the two overland camping trips this weekend because it’s cold and raining. Opted to play board games today instead so I’ll be up there tomorrow to hang out!
I was thinking camp Saturday into Sunday but heck I don’t have a job anymore, I got all the time in the world! Let me know what the plan is. There’s also an overnight camp trip with a group here in Boise and I’m supposed to play board games Saturday so I have to pick ONE. Tough decisions.
Only two are not booked because they’re first come first served. I don’t mind sharing a site if we anyone else wants to camp, just can’t 100% count on it and have to get there early. I could probably get there early and then go hike somewhere. Wife and dog staying home for this.
Since the 4th of July trip got cancelled, does anyone else have anything planned? Wife and I looking forward to our first real overlanding trip. We're open to travel from Idaho, within reason. Otherwise, maybe we'll go to the West coast or something, never been to the Redwood forests.
Yeah, it’s confirmed. Using Gaia with Apple car play is awful. Trying to navigate the screen while driving through huge potholes was not a good idea. Maybe my wife bought me an iPad mini for my birthday today. I won’t get my hopes up. Hahah
Will there be fuel stops or should I come prepared with a fuel can. This will be my first trip like this so I'm not sure what to expect for fuel economy. With a 6cyl Outback, I'll get around 26mpg @ 70mph. I did the math and I'll need to get 9mpg to make it 150 miles on 18.5gallons. I'm going to...
Looks awesome! We’re excited. Dog had TPLO surgery two weeks ago so we were afraid she wouldn’t heal in time but doctor says it’s usually 6 weeks of rest, this will be at 8 weeks so we’re hoping the bone heals and we don’t have set backs.
I have read that the features are limited and it's clunky with Apple Car Play. I have a short trip coming up this weekend and I'm going to try it out. I will let you know how it works. End game is an inreach with an iPad mini. However, we're planning on buying our first house this fall and I...
I'm looking for an older iPad mini, WiFi only, to use with Gaia. I plan on buying the Garmin Glo 2 for $100 so I really don't want to spend more than $150 on the iPad.
You're more than welcome if you have the spare time. We're still up in the air on dates, might be Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 23. I think I have a couple buddies from work interested too.
***UPDATE*** We've changed the date to Monday, May 25 due to weather. If anyone is interested.
Hello,
Silver City road and town in Idaho opens up Memorial Day weekend. I'm planning on heading out maybe Saturday, May 30 from Boise area at 10:00 am and getting down to Silver City whenever we get...
