Funny I found this post as I was just here to ask for pointers on a week long trip around Utah! I'm in Fort Collins, CO. I just ordered a '22 JLUR, hoping to get it by February. I'm coming from a lifted Subaru Outback so this will be quite the jump up. I know, I wish I had a 4runner.... well...
Are you going with a group up there? Still don’t have plan in concrete. Mike go with Iridium somewhere but waiting to hear back from him on what he is doing. Playing everything by ear right now.
I found it!!! I still had it in Gaia. It was either Deep Lake or Josephine Lake, we visited both that day and I don't remember which is which, I have a feeling it was Deep Lake though...
Greetings! I'm looking for an alpine lake within 3 hours of Fort Collins and no more than 2 mile hike one way with easyish access for the dog to swim. We love getting out away from all the crazy people, going for a little hike and playing fetch with the ball in the water. If there is an off road...
It’s called Flowers Trail. I think it’s a total of 30miles but the wreckage site is about 5 miles in and it’s not on the trail I read. You have to know where it is or you’ll miss it. Which makes it better because then the disrespectful people who just want to steal things and trash the area...
looks like 5.5 hours from rapid city to my house then 1.5 hours further west from there.Stay tuned! Rumor has it I planned a trip on a road that isn’t open... hah idiot
I've got one of those Baofeng radios a guy recommended from an ID Overland Bound group I went out with a few times. Works great and there is a conversion table for all the FRS/GMRS channels so just tune the radio to one of those frequencies...
Back in Colorado and want to do something in the wilderness! I live in Severance which is 20-30min East of Fort Collins. I'm interested in driving Old Flowers Road and then hitting the Flowers Trail to hike to the B-15 crash site which I hear is 5 miles in (10 miles round trip, long hike). I...
I did see the Wilderness edition! A slight lift, my geolandars, but still a CVT. If they put a normal transmission with a low transfer case, I might have strongly considered it honestly. So far my Outback hasn’t let me down. I’ve been places with Jeep’s, Tacoma’s, xterras and people have said...
Awesome! Sounds like we’re going very similar vehicle routes! I’m waiting for the 6th gen 4Runner then my Outback will be on a Toyota used lot. Sounds like an awesome trip you have planned. Going in a group? Room for one extra rig maybe?
