  • Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

    Northern Wanderings

We made a slight backtrack to a cool sand flat area just off the highway on the shores of the mighty and storied Skeena River, a waterway that has been the lifeblood of the region for well over a hundred years. This was a quick lunch of wraps and fruit, as we had to set off on the next leg of...

    Northern Wanderings

The track winds through some severe ups and downs with very steep grades, past the aforementioned rec sites, and finally arrives at the east end of Top Lake, and one of the most majestic spots one could ever hope to see. This would make a spectacular spot to camp, and would offer a ton in...

    Northern Wanderings

After some months of planning, map recce, and research, I put together a plan for a four day trip, beginning in my own "back yard" of Telkwa, BC, with a drive through The Telkwa Pass. Spanning roughly 100 kms through the stunning Telkwa Mountain Range between Telkwa and Thornhill, BC, just...

Camp Poop (sorry for the bluntness but I want to know)

I actually have the pop up privacy tent already, $20 amazon one, which I use in conjunction with the Home Depot bucket. I considered putting together a portable/collapsible shower floor to go inside, then rig up a DIY road shower type setup.

Camp Poop (sorry for the bluntness but I want to know)

I use a 5gal Home Depot bucket combined with a $20 snap on toilet seat and lid from Amazon and some compostable bags, combined with a cheap pop up privacy tent. I think two rolls of a couple hundred bags were like 10 bucks. Since choosing this option, I've seen a few slightly more elegant...

Squamish to Gibsons: The Mythical Track

I was really hoping some locals from the Sunshine Coast or Whistler/Squamish would jump in and hit up some local archives. I did at some point ask a local historian about it, but he didn't know anything about it unfortunately. I did a quick lookup of the Swisha Loop - looks like an epic...

Expedition to Kitsault and Alice Arm

Wow, that's so cool! I'm so glad you enjoyed the trip report. Have you been up to the old house in Alice Arm at all? I'm guessing the old house is in a state of decay, unfortunately. If you ever get a chance, I highly recommend the trip. One of the most beautiful places on earth :) Feel free to...

Who carrys a firearm with them while camping?

You're kind of indirectly proving his point, though - that the majority of shooters are in fact criminals. Criminals involved in domestic violence, as it turns out. The stats about the race of the perpetrators probably don't mean much of anything if you consider them alongside the demographic...

Who carrys a firearm with them while camping?

Not to mention that numerous mass shootings, or what would have been, have been ended swiftly by an armed citizen before the cops ever arrived. That right there is plenty of reason to support concealed carry by law abiding citizens.

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

That's pretty sick! What's your intended use case for this? I'm intrigued.

    Post your rig

Hey, I'm almost positive I saw you rig at BCOR in 2019, camped not far from me. Also, you live about 20 minutes from me currently, if your location is correct! Sweet looking rig.

    The Perfect Camp Stove

As it's my solemn duty to present the "ghetto" bargain basement option when it comes to overlanding, I present to you, the classic Coleman 2 burner: I picked it up on Facebook Marketplace for $20 canuck bucks and I've used it for years in all kinds of weather and locations with zero problems...

2006 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4wd SLT - "Rumble"

I made a minor improvement to one of my side bins today, adding a shelf in the middle. It's about half the depth of the bin. I may try using this bin to hold my camp kitchen stuff, but even if I don't end up going with that setup, the shelf is really nice to have.

    The Grenadier....

Right? Seems like we never get the really awesome stuff in the NA market, which is lame and annoying. I guess we'll wait and see.

    camp canada crown land

That new BC Discovery tool is neat! I moved from BC the summer before last, so I wasn't aware of it. I always used the interactive land use map, which does load a little bit faster, and can be found here...

    The Grenadier....

I hope some day I can afford one. Absolutely love the Grenadier and the philosophy behind it. Incidentally, Toyota recently announced they're releasing a brand new $10,000 modular pickup truck aimed at business and trades use, however one of their concept art pieces showed a pretty sick overland...

2006 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4wd SLT - "Rumble"

Got the uprights swapped over today with the help of a neighbor and a couple of very tall homemade sawhorses I had around. Just put the saw horses in the bed to support the tent and the top of the bed rack, then unbolted the uprights and swapped sides, then bolted it all back together. Took a...

    Florida Hall of Shame

See, this is the kind of thing I like to see, and the kind of response we as taxpaying citizens of our respective countries need to demand from our public SERVANTS. No, closing off access is NOT acceptable. It is NOT acceptable to punish the vast majority who are actually trying to solve the...

    Camp Photos!

That tower looks like something right out of Lord of the Rings. Awesome! The spanish moss never fails to bring back fond memories of my time in Savannah, GA, although the weather was miserably muggy for my Canadian self lol Thanks for sharing!
