...manageable without worry about wet carpets.
Mr_Mnml_Engnr, I am not sure. I will have to look that up.
Kevin, yes I have that download from Gaia. I use onX Offroad and did the import. It seemed a bit off in places, so I went back through and basically recreated the route in onX by creating...
...in to the email on the tablet and then loading to the app. I was just hoping there was a way to route plan on the desktop/webmap then sync to the tablet app. That's the planning method I used in Gaia, OnX, Earthmate...I really want to like OB1 but the lack of desktop planning is somewhat...
Reviving an old thread here as I've searched elsewhere and can't seem to find the answer. Where can the apk files for gaia gps be found in order to sideload them to the overlander unit? I even reached out to gaia and they said it can't be done if the unit does not have Google play. Can anyone...
...stumbled onto this trail and it looked big enough to fit a 4x4 but that doesn't mean anything if it's only rated for ATV and not 4x4 SUV legal. My plan is to drive to the lake then probably hike up the mountain to one of the overlooks.
This is what Gaia GPS map show.
This is what Google Map...
An app like Gaia GPS with the Roads and Trails layer would help. Local forest road maps as well. Once you get off of anything that says Passenger Car Friendly it will vary a great deal. It will vary by the weather conditions. Sometimes if solo you just have to get out and walk to see if...

Thanks for the Gaia help. I was poking around and found it on the desktop version. I’ll try on mobile later.
You would think every map would have a key somewhere .
...area? I'm looking for an easy to moderate route to find some great scenery. Will be traveling with a friend in another vehicle, but we're pretty inexperienced so don't want to get into trouble with anything too hardcore.

I have not found them in OB-1, but in Gaia you can click on the layer icon, then long press on the map layer you would like to see a legend for, a shortcut menu will pop up, select 'view layer details' and a new page will open that has a 'view legend' button that will reveal that maps legend.
I just posted the same question over in the OB1 section. Why isn’t there anything to tell what the different road lines are; dashes, dotted, outlined solid, etc. I can guess at some but I don’t like guessing.
I finally found the Gaia legend, now to find OB1’s. Maybe they’re the same.
Hi all,
Maybe I‘m just not seeing it, maybe this is obvious to everyone else but where is the map’ s legend?
I have the same issue with Gaia…there doesn’t seem to be anything to refer to that shows what the different versions of road/ trail/ path lines mean.
If anyone can point me to the legend...
...into the mountains, accessing either from 108 or 89 then 4. I've driven 108 and 89 before, but not 4, and never camped off either area. On Gaia I see a lot of enticing forest service roads between the two, and also between 4 and 88. Looks like a maze but at least according to Gaia it may be...
...need to take a couple of dry runs to get things worked out and hope to do a few 3-5 day trips soon. All of the digital aids like this site, Gaia, On X, etc. will be a big plus...when I figure how to use them!
I would love to do some close-in meet and greet dry runs in the next 60...
...and others are no access roads. And someone who had camped in the wild there told me that he got a EUR 300 fine for doing so. Checking with Gaia GPS, unpaved roads are not that plentiful.
Does anybody have experience with overlanding in Slovenia? Is there enough unpaved to make it worth...
...Pine Barrens, or Pinelands, which are 1.1 million acres of open land available for public recreation! Here is a shot of the route as viewed in Gaia GPS which displays on my Uconnect 4 with 8.4" touchscreen via Android Auto and a Google Pixel 7.
Since my recent Cross Pennsylvania Adventure...
