Sorry to hijack this thread (great pics from recent trips!). Since we're all local, just wanted to throw this out in case anyone is looking for a big fridge. https://www.overlandbound.com/forums/threads/dometic-cfx-65dz-fridge-700.20222/. I'll be at Expo East this weekend, leaving early Thursday...
Bought this fridge new from Amazon a year ago. Have used about 6 times. Works and looks like new. I have not used it as a freezer, just a fridge. But I did "test" the freezer section for a few days at home and it worked as advertised - kept chicken and popsicles frozen, everything else nice and...
Crowster, I'll be pulling in around the same time. Are you by-passing the rally point caravan and pulling in to the campsite at 1:00, or hanging at the rally point until the caravan leaves around 4:00?
Moak, that video is priceless!! Such good advice here - I would have never known. That's the value of our community in action for sure. Appreciate y'all!
Of interest next year, Alpine Trail in Colorado, Mohave Desert, and Escalante area of Utah. In searching, looks like most or all of those areas would be trailer friendly. Any insights would be appreciated if you've been to any of these spots! Thanks guys!
Very good advice, and awesome pics! I'm totally with you on the single lane/shelf trails. I was white knuckled throughout the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands for fear of meeting another vehicle. Luckily we didn't. There a few trailers I'm eager to see at Overland East in a few weeks, but most...
Todd, awesome response! Yes, I've already encountered a few issues overlanding in a full size truck, but I need it as my daily driver, so I use what I have. Having said that, I'm not sure I'll have the truck forever. And my desire for the trailer is just like yours - everything self contained...
Hey folks! I'm strongly looking into an overland trailer. There are just a lot of things that make sense to me in how they're set up, portability, etc. But I'm curious for those that have them - do you feel restricted in the places you can pull it? We travel to Colorado and Utah several times a...
Hey Lee! Sorry for the delayed response. The rail system comes with the Front Runner rack (as I remember). Nothing fancy, but it works. I have factory running boards, but on the White Rim Trail I did bottom out twice, the last time bent my passenger board just a little bit. As my daily driver, I...
It screws in to a rail system which, in turn, screws in to the sides of the bed rail. Once the rails are in place, it’s pretty simple to take the rack on and off.
Hey Lee! Glad to help, and good timing since I just finished a trip from Nashville to Moab and was keeping track of all that. I can tell you I was super impressed with the capabilities of the F150. It climbed like a champ in 4Low up some pretty serious Utah mountains in Canyonlands - never...
A few pics of my 2012 F150 Ecoboost, with FrontRunner rack and Decked drawer system. My bed space is just enough to get storage containers underneath while being totally safe when the bed is locked. It's virtually impossible to get into those storage bins. Just an FYI for y'all that are building...
Adam, not going to make it Saturday after all - have a trip to Atlanta creep up. Definitely interested in meeting everyone and staying in the loop on trips and events. Let's get out there!
Hey everyone! Been around the forums for a little while now, but haven't formally introduced myself. I'm Chase, from Brentwood, Tn (just south of Nashville). I've been backpacking, fly fishing, sea kayaking much of my life, but Overlanding seems to be my newest interest as I recently retired at...
Hey DangerBear028! Good to see another Nashville-area person in OB. If you haven't seen it yet, check out the upcoming Rally Point for Nashville area overlanders. Meet and greet coming up in a few weeks. Look forward to meeting you.
New to Overlanding and eager to meet others in the Middle Tennessee area. I'm in Nashville, not exactly a mecca for Overlanding, but have gear, time, and ready to get out year round - though Holiday season will probably mean hitting the trails in 2018. Would love to connect with other Nashville...
Just now finding this thread. In Nashville looking for some "close" overland trips/community. Really looking forward to connecting for trips starting in 2018. Have gear, will travel.
