    Toilet Time

Interesting stuff. Any thoughts on those who are on the road more "long term"? Looking at the cost of the bags/chemical packs, vs a composting system. (Portapotty cartridge is not an option for me - been there not going back). Yes, a composting system is way more expensive initially, but it...

    Which RTT to buy???

For anyone in Canada, or those in the US (especially east coast) wanting a better bargain due to the "crap" Canadian exchange rate, might want to take a look at Wild Coast Tents. Website is not the best, but Peter and Trish take customer Service to a whole new level. If you have questions, call...

    Overlanding Around The World?

The long way around, and the long way down were awesome. Very inspirational. I see you are a jeep owner, so perhaps may not be familiar with X-overland. (A Toyota expedition) - check them out on YouTube if you haven't already. Also very inspirational. It's all doable - I plan on hitting...

What keeps you from overlanding more?

Work, and Winter. I'm not a winter person, and I'm stuck in a country that has winter everywhere. We can't escape it. All summer I'm working on projects, and try to squeeze in a few weekends of adventure, and think "this winter I'll get X done.." But then winter comes and it's so nasty...

    Positive Feedback Loop...

Let me just start by saying I couldn't really find a forum category that I thought this properly fit in, so placed it here. We all know that in this day and age of the Internet, there are a lot of quick to judge haters. I know that Overland Bound is dedicated to a positive attitude, and I...

First Responders - Overland Bound Emblem Rocker

Love this idea! Would go great with the green flashing light in my FZJ80! Firefighter 553 South Frontenac Fire Rescue. (Fully volunteer department)

    Tired tires?

Absolutely. Tires have been great, and can't beat the price (and free shipping!). Just ordered the replacement today.

    Tired tires?

Hey folks, looking for general opinion here... I know some will feel strongly, and people will likely disagree with others opinions, but, that's what internet is for right? I run Treadwright Wardens on my 1993 FZJ80 LandCruiser. Yes, re-treads. I know many are against the idea, but I love...

    Camp Photos!

Wow, so much cool in this thread!!! Here are a few of my/our favorite places... The "test" spot - actually just a place I scraped down to flat rock with the backhoe - behind out house... The next test spot, about 1/2 an hour from home at "the cottage" (my parents cottage). On a narrow...

Wow, this is a lot of pages to go through!!! I've started adding a bunch of you but this is going to take a while!! I'm https://www.instagram.com/atIOIYIOI - I try to keep it all LandCruiser/offroad/overland type pics, but once in a while something random sneaks in!

    Our East Coast Adventure

Hey Everyone! Well it's sure been a while since my last video posted here (Threshold Braking) but I have finally managed to get the editing done from our summer trip out east! We packed everything (and everyone) into our 1985 BJ70 and hit the road! No where near as exciting as X-overland of...

Threshold Braking 101: When Rubber Meets Ice

David, any time a diff is truely locked, the computer has no choice but to disable the ABS, or disable the diff lock (not sure any do that) - it can't control wheels individually when they are locked together.

Threshold Braking 101: When Rubber Meets Ice

Hi Lassen - I'm not sure on the temperature/grip scale, but I can tell you it's fairly common to get "square" tires after a cold night, at say -25C (-13F) or so. By "square" tires, I mean the flat on the bottom from being parked stays there when you start to roll. Can usually feel it for the...

Threshold Braking 101: When Rubber Meets Ice

Hi David - it is possible to threshold brake while the ABS is active - but as you noted, it can be difficult. That said however, if you were to apply the maximum braking available without activating the ABS, and you continue to modulate to find that limit - you are effectively doing exactly the...

Hey! Bruce here from 4LowLife, you may remember me from such videos as "threshold braking" :tearsofjoy: and hopefully more to come in the future! 1) Picture.... Well, if you insist. 2) Location. - Lets say Kingston, Ontario - home of the Tragically Hip, Queens University, and the original...
