What do we think of Anker's new battery-powered cooler?

Yeah, the way I see it is it’s just a good way to market and to give early adopters a discount. Their goal was only $10,000 too.

What do we think of Anker's new battery-powered cooler?

Hey y'all. Anker has a new battery-powered cooler on Kickstarter (I won't post links, because I don't want to be accused of being a shill haha). I don't yet have a powered cooler, mostly because I haven't spent to time to research them. What looks interesting about this cooler, however, is...

US Northwest Camano Island State Park Campout

We've stayed at this park before, I think. It's pretty great, but it does get rather muddy during the rainy season. We'll try to stay the night - we don't have a canopy yet, though, so we might dip out early or just hunker under one of y'all's. This will be my first season with my new rig, so...

    Mounting your devices.

Thanks y'all. I knew about Expedition Essentials mount, but didn't like how it mounts. I also don't think you should pay that much and have to modify your vehicle to make it work. I grabbed one that mounts to the FJ's dash without having to remove anything or do any drilling. I slapped a RAM...

Looking to add 6 light pods and a switch panel

Watched some more videos. Too frickin easy. Why are some switches so expensive? What more do they offer?

Looking to add 6 light pods and a switch panel

Oh dang. Didn't even realize the switch panel would replace relays. That's great. Watched a couple videos but I'm still not 100% understanding. I think most of that will come with hands-on. I suppose my list becomes: - 2x battery terminal connector - 2x connectors each light pod/bar - 14awg...

Looking to add 6 light pods and a switch panel

Hey y'all. Electrical is definitely not my thing. I've spliced wires before, but that's about it. Here's what I'm planning: - 2 spot light pods - roof front - 2 flood light pods - rear roof - 2 diffused light pods or light bar - roof front or bumper - 8 gang switch panel Each one has the...

    Rack-mounted ladder hooks?

I think what makes me untrusting of this setup is that all that weight is going to just the bolts. Would like to find a different mounting solution altogether.

    Rack-mounted ladder hooks?

Hey y'all. I have a telescoping ladder with hooks on the end. It came with my Desert Armor UL RTT. It came with mounts that attach to the underside of the tent, but it doesn't clear my Sherpa rack. I attached the ladder mounts to the side rail of the Sherpa rack but had to use spacers to get it...

    Mounting your devices.

Yeah, my current suction cup one has Qi charging, which works with MagSafe. So nice. Don’t want to give that up. edit: Also, RAM does have Qi compatible mounts as well as ones you could put your MagSafe charger into. Might consider one of those since I have one laying around.

    CafeRoaster's '08 FJ Cruiser

I used to run the parking mode, but it only lasts for a little bit before the car battery gets too low. I set ours to 12.2v if I remember correctly. What's yours set at and what type of car battery? I've thought about throwing my AGM in and allowing the parking mode to run on that, but I still...

    CafeRoaster's '08 FJ Cruiser

Today, I got the Sherpa Fuji rack and my Desert Armor UL RTT installed! A buddy helped me out on the rainiest day of the season. It was not fun and my fingers are still numb, but I had a pint of Fort George Vortex IPA, which makes it okay. And we finished before noon.

    CafeRoaster's '08 FJ Cruiser

Today, I installed my dash cam that I had in the Element. It's a lot less clean than it was in the Element, as there is far less room in the headliner. In the Element, I was able to tuck all of the extra cable up in the headliner. Not so with the FJ. So for now I've zip-tied them into bundles...

    CafeRoaster's '08 FJ Cruiser

Hey y'all. I'm excited to have joined the club a couple of weeks ago. Picked up this beautiful 2008 Platinum FJC with Auto, A-TRAC, Rear Lockers, and parking sensor. Just under 183,000 miles for $15,500 here in Seattle. I'm moving up from a 2005 Honda Element AWD that I highly modified, but...

    Mounting your devices.

I'm in the process of many things, one of those being setting up my device mounting situation. I'll be mount just an iPhone 12 Pro Max at first, then an iPad in the future, and a radio handset. I'm leaning toward using RAM mounts. However, I'm at odds with what base to use. I could go with the...

How often does the Sherpa Fuji rack go on sale?

I ordered. I’m a man of weak constitution.

How often does the Sherpa Fuji rack go on sale?

My wife is not going to be happy.

How often does the Sherpa Fuji rack go on sale?

Seeing it on sale now, but I need to sell my other rig before I can even think about getting a rack for the FJ that I just bought, if I also plan on sleeping inside. But, do they go on sale often or rarely?
