I don't have my FTM400XDR yet, but I do have a handheld Baofeng UV82HP. I have an external antenna mounted on my Jeep. The Baofeng works fine but I do find it a little difficult using it mobile. It's fine if you just set it to one channel and use a handheld speaker/mic, but it is hard to see...

If it would ever stop raining here in SoCal, I'll put on my Throwback (similar to Sunrider) and take some pics of it with the RhinoRack.

Update from yesterday on mine is hopefully by the end of the month. Yaesu is sending 2-3 lots at a time to each store.

I hear you, I chose d) all of the above...haha! I have a mic mount on the grab handle with a ram ball on the side of it for a passenger phone mount. Everything else is on the vector dock using ram mounts, tablet, Inreach, gopro...etc.

When I ordered mine it said it would be handled by the Burbank, CA store so I guess whatever HRO store is closest to your ship-to location is where it comes from? I'll hit them up in a couple days if I haven't seen any more order updates from them.

I have the amber version on my Jeep and they work well for me in the fog. They were a drop in replacement for the Jeep fog lights. I've had them for about a year and have zero complaints.

I'm about to to install the Rhino Rack on my JK. I want to be able to move our RTT from the trailer to the Jeep fairly easily so I am working on a solution which may incorporate the Frontrunner quick release RTT mounts on the Jeep side. Pricey, but a friend of mine has them and they work well...

I would avoid the NL system, they don't like the heat. Many threads on Expedition Portal regarding them failing, including the one I started. You'd be much be off with a Blue Sea 7622 ML-ACR which will do the same thing as the NL. Sorry, tried to link it on Amazon but it's not working...

I'm curious as to how bright the handheld display is at night? Does it have a setting to dim it? Thanks.
