Belmont and the surrounding mountains are awesome. I spent some time elk hunting down there a few years ago and loved the country. Austin is cool little town with a lot of history. Eureka is another cool town. I love the pictures. It’s pretty cool getting to see that others enjoy some of the...
A lift and good tires will do a lot for a rig. But it will also lead to needing deeper gears and lockers. A winch while handy at times could sit on the front of your truck for years before it ever gets used. The one on my side by side has been used once for recovery. Every other time it has been...
Mine was originally going to be just the rocker panels.
I did the rockers a few years ago on my Tahoe. I used raptor liner when I did it. The bad part was there were no instructions on prep work. I am pretty positive after using the monstaliner and doing a lot of research, that I didn’t prep it...
I did do the bed liner myself, with the wife’s help. The prep work sucks. Especially doing a color change. Then you’ve got to do the door jams and areas that are hidden. No matter how well you tape it off you’re going to find imperfections when you peel the tape. If it was something completely...
2 diodes away from being finished… for this year anyway. I’ll stop flooding the internet with pictures of my truck now. Atleast until I get some camp pictures.
My solar controller does not say whether or not it is protected from back feeding when the alternator is charging my 3rd battery. Without having much knowledge about solar panels, and kind of learning as I go, I don’t trust the controller to be protected. So I am now waiting for 2 diodes to show...
Not my expedition rig, more like day trip, or vacation without camping vehicle. I have camped out of it a few times though. Would not hesitate to use it as the main overlanding vehicle if something ever happened to my dodge. It’s an 04 with 121,000 on it.
Then I installed the gauge and switch for my onboard air.
Everything draws power from a blue sea fuse box. Installed my solar charge controller. Ran it through a fuse in the fuse holder and it should charge the battery still and offer some circuit protection.
Still need to clean a few things...
So I hit the lottery. I drew a nevada bighorn sheep tag. I spent the first of my days off looking at sheep and learning my area. Then family showed up. So today I decided I need this thing finished. I put power outlets on the shelf in my camper. 2 USB ports a cigarette lighter plug and a volt...
So it starts. No more money. No more free time. No more friends and family. My cj7 build became all consuming. Mine got back burnered for a long time now. New wife. New house. 10 acres of bare dirt. Primary rig got a face lift. Plus the need to have a life too. Hopefully after this fall mine...
I pack 3 pairs of shoes on every trip. I have a pair of Walmart slides/ flip flops. The ones without the strap between the toes, can’t stand the way that strap feels. I wear them driving and lounging around camp. A pair of new balance. I have wide flat feet. New balance makes damn comfortable...
And to correct my own story. The wife is the one that called him in. He fell off his 4 wheeler and couldn’t sit up without swaying in circles. Then just decided my driveway was a great place to hang out and drink for a while since he couldn’t get back on his quad.
This is the good view from my house. And the big reason I love my sxs. I can load up some firearms and ammo in my side by side and ride straight from my house. In 10 minutes I can go anywhere I want and not see another person for days. And in a small community if I do see them I probably know...
