I’ve never used a RTT so I’m no authority. I’ve also never had something bad happen while I’m camping, but I do try to be ready. Part of the readiness for me is that if something bad does happen I can just drive away.

I’m not saying a winch is a bad thing. It’s not. I want a winch. And I notice that people with winches tend to get in to situations where they need a winch. So it’s farther down my list than many other things.

I use a dry bag from Sportsman’s Guide. Because of the roll-top sealing the smell is reduced, although I do not put it inside the vehicle.
