    Recommendations on traction board mounts

Lot of engineers here overthinking this. I highly doubt a half inch hole in the traction board will affect its structural integrity. And done

Silverado Z71 bed rack for kayak transport?

Trac Rac, now by Thule. Lot of construction folks use them. A front and rear stand, on a slider that can move both to front, or one to the back. Hold like 800 pounds or something...

Love that k2500 and everywhere I've seen it in these pictures

Pots and pans (and kettle?) - nesting, compact, not crazy expensive

Think I've seen an even smaller one of these without plates and stuff. Sort of the size of a Stanley food jar?

Advice Needed: 3rd Gen 4Runner or Jeep Wrangler JKU

FRAME As has already been said, 25 years old is 25 years old. Drivetrain? Ok, but what about all the hoses, rubber and electrical? Most importantly, what condition is the Toyota FRAME in? In this case, if that Jeep is paid for, stay with it. I know you said it's been rebuild and worked...

    Urban 'Burban - 2000 Suburban 2500

Nice and shiny! Looks new. I thought the cabin air filters on this generation were actually sealed shut from the factory. They never thought they'd need changing. Saw a video of a guy, this gen Sierra, had to cut the box open and create a way to reclose.

    Advice

Cant imagine a bumper for a full size fitting a mid size. Then again the new midsize are big compared to their predecessors. How wide is a 2018, or is it totalled and are you getting a new one ?

    Urban 'Burban - 2000 Suburban 2500

Looking for recommendations for new tires.

They remind me of the old Goodyear Wrangler TD's I used to put on my 91 Chevy Truck (they weren't called Silverado yet), Cheyenne edition single cab 4x4 6 foot bed. There was a big old truck mechanic spot in South Bay in the 90's. And I used to stop in there now and then they would have some...

Did Top Gear/Grand Tour Inspire a Generation of Overlanders?

Havent seen the final episodes yet but the dune buggy trip through Namibia...the Columbia drive with James May in the Fiat Panda...the episode of Top Gear where Richard gets "rescued" from Lone Wolf Mountain...they were fun. Showed where the vehicles you expect to see on expeditions can fail...

Tell Me About That 4 banger turbo in the Wranglers.

Doors are ready aluminum. Not sure about the hood. I happen to love the YJ, even though its lower than the CJ, and has square headlights. The 4.0L (after about 1990), unassuming interior are highlights. Drove a Rubicon a couple years ago, and the interior felt cramped, while the YJ was...

Looking for recommendations for new tires.

Rear wheel drive and 4x4 vehicles should be using the rearward cross pattern of that image, is what I always was told. Dont know why the X wouldn't work?

Let's see those full size rigs - Trucks & SUV

Love those Broncos even better than the originals. Gen 2 through 5 are it, for me I'd love to see how you did that. I'm no electrician and I dont even play one on TV. If you have pics, laser pointers and sock puppets explaining it, that'd help, ha ha

Let's see those full size rigs - Trucks & SUV

I've got a set of amber 3/4 marker lights that I've wanted to install at the body plugs of my rocker panels. I have side boards kind of like yours and thought they would give us a little illumination of the step boards in the dark. Looks good.

    Thoughts on portals ??

The original Humvee had drop gears like this. It could do wonderous things, but it always had fleet repair in the green zone. There is a reason they simplified the "Hummer" undercarriage to that of the regular GM K2500 when they went all civilian. I'm with the people here that say K.I.S.S...
