The Quest for the Best Knife.

Have I mentioned Byrd Cara Cara 2 as a good cheapo depot?

Hard to say which I would like more, TBH

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Hauling 900 lbs of early 1900's era brick left over from a demo. Plan to use it for a herringbone platform in front of a shed that I hope to turn into a sauna. There is a wooden deck platform there now that's wet-rotted. Dont want to replace it twice in my lifetime. Here's the shed last winter:

Resolved Searching for info on truck I bought

Sounds like an amazing trip! I dont think you broke any rules on posting here, merely the age old "I have the world at my fingertips and didnt bother to use the search function first" syndrome that seems to afflict many. It's a good site. Take some time to browse. That's how I figure out...

Resolved Searching for info on truck I bought

Not for nothing, but isnt this made easy enough? Just click on the MENU (top left), scroll down to MEMBERS section and click on it. From inside the members section, go to the SEARCH feature, and plug that number in. If they were " hiding" they would not have purchased a medallion and posted...

    Overlanding in Badlans Nat Park?

I'd love to return to that area. Black Hills were beautiful but we didnt camp there. As others have said, only regular campgrounds withing Baldlands -which was the must stunning part of our trip. Two pictures taken from the Cedar Pass camp. One of a nice view, the other when I turned back...

    Wood or Propane fire pit

Ha ha. No. They are. That sh!t is unsustainable. I wouldn't by a full size grill for cookouts at my HOUSE that cost that much

    Wood or Propane fire pit

Holy smokes! (See what I did there?) $190 is a lot of money, BUTA not considering what this can do and how nice it packs down. This is on my list of things to get

    2000 Jeep XJ Pensacola, FL

Had a WJ, same engine and a lot of other parts. I think these came with Saginaws stock. Not and Allen screw on top of steering box. Loosen nut. If steering it tight, loosen allen screw a bit and then re-tighten nut. Check those out as they c ou old also be source of your leaks. You may not...

    When #vanlife goes horribly wrong.

Also, I dont know why the police in Florida didnt just arrest Brian for stealing the van. It was in her name only, after all. Or if not "theft", then at least the little-known "use without authority." They could have held him, investigated and up-charged him later as they gained more...

    When #vanlife goes horribly wrong.

Well, in two words, sure. Or hot mess, or whatever. Of course, she didnt deserve to die over that, and he should not have killed her. Best case scenario, he should have just recognized that she was a handful, grabbed his backpack and started walking east. But yes there was something the cops...

    When #vanlife goes horribly wrong.

I was a bit concerned about the lack of follow through in Utah and Florida. Seems like the PD from Long Island who were on the phone with the cop in Florida whi saw the van at the house, those folks seemed the most concerned

    When #vanlife goes horribly wrong.

Gonna respectfully disagree while asking permission to contradict myself here... I have no insider involvement like @RichieFromBoston might have. I know only news reports of the time and the recent documentary Riche talks about. 1) he murdered her, and nothing can change that. He did the...

    When #vanlife goes horribly wrong.

As soon as I saw your subject line, Gabby was the first person I thought of. The way you posted, I thought this was going to be of something recent. Curious to know: What brings this up going on 4 years later?

    That does not sound good

That'd be cool. Everything from shock towers to bad lifters, CV joints, manifold leaks or various forms of wildlife encountered by members

    That does not sound good

My old Infinity G20 + half-a s s e d mechanic = that sound hitting a particularly obtuse bridge expansion joint. Never forget that sound, just like I never forget the death wobble experience after lifting my 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee with IRO springs, Pro Comp 9000 series shocks, Moog anti sway...
