I like that lid-as-another-skillet feature, but wouldn't the lid slide off easily? Doesn't look like it has a lip to hold it on. From what I can see, mine is the standard L8DOL3 with the normal lid.

For camping I just have a 10" lodge skillet and a lodge Dutch oven as well. I also have a 8" griddle that I take because it's flat, and comes in handy. For boiling water I have my Grandma's old aluminum kettle/pitcher thing. Works fine! For backpacking, I have some whizbang lightweight stuff...

My wife and I typically try to get away this time of year for a few days for our anniversary (we got married on 12/23—not a great choice in terms of timing). So this year I thought it'd be fun to take the Jeep out for its first real trip since I started building it for overlanding. Thirteenth...

Congrats! Yeah no kidding. Enjoy your alone time for real! We were married 8 years before our first, and I don't regret it at all. We did lots of cool stuff in that time that would have been difficult with babies.

I've been carrying a Benchmade knife around for a few years, but always liked the idea of the Leatherman. I just always thought they were too big. Well I got this from my daughter and I've been carrying it with the pocket clip. It's amazing! Just a bit larger than my pocket knife, and a 154CM...

Ha, thanks! I was wanting to post about in the trip planning section. Probably have to just post a summary afterwards. Lucky thirteen! We were babies when we got hitched. High school sweethearts and all. :hearteyes::hearteyes: Yeah I was thinking the same. Probably couldn't be an official thing.

I would think most of us would be in the same boat in that regard. I have a three day anniversary getaway planned for this week and its been on the books for a few months. :grin:
