Old topic but I also run a Lowrance, same as Mark Low we use it for the race in Baja. I also run a Ram 3 suction cup rested on the dash so it doesnt move. It works great if you really just need to follow a pre loaded trail or making a new one. Its set up to make a track as you go so you can...
We can do most installs here at Top Shop in lafayette, I've primarily have focused on Toyota and Jeep over the years, just bring your own parts. Also can recommend a shop in Concord that will do installs as well.

What kind of vehicle, model, year, do you have and what lift brand and type are you looking into? Would help narrow down some shops. Some are more fabrication oriented and some are maintenance and installation shops.

For my set up I have it mount it on the roof rack I have. And they are made so you use good hose clamps to attach to any size tube/bar.

I'm fairly new to hunting myself, have been going with a friend since no members of my family hunt. I have a 1yr old daughter I'm hoping to teach her when I have more experience and knowledge as she gets older

I should also add, there are no ATMs in Bay of LA. Bring the cash you think you will need for the days you are there.

I suggest taking a look at the gps files from the Baja 1000 2 weeks ago. It parallels a lot of when you were planning on doing. Get on the course on a few spots and check it out it's fun to drive in the desert down there

Yes I'm chasing for a team, we have 11-12 cars we will be looking after.
All the files of the course and access points I could share with you when I get back. You could make a nice trip out of it
