Sweet setup man, I'm with you on the accuracy and speed of the unit. I run a Lowrance 5m as well with predefined maps of western states as well as baja file, all from PCI.
I was going to mention the LeadNav guys but deleted my post. I met them last year in Ensenada and were super cool at showing...
I don't think that place is open anymore from what I heard 2-3 years ago. I would call first. He used to have a website, a quick google search didn't show it, so probably closed.
The place is not that big for having small tires, it was really there for guys 35"+ and expected to lay it on the...
I will mention that BFG does a huge amount of r&d Offroad on their KO2 and KM2s. All you have to look is at their racing background. Head down to any Offroad desert race or and you will find most vehicles equipped with BFG or Toyos. From our buggies on 33-35s to TT on 800hp spinning those 40"...
Only have experience with action packer but here is experience.
Ive been using bigger action packers for years. They have held up really well to lots of trips, rock crawling trails, baja trips. On the jeep TJ they would fit perfectly side by side in the back area, under a rack I had. With near...
There is no official run this weekend, I was just mentioning that I was up in that area and possibly exploring trails of Mormon emigrant trail.
I will be in Somerset for the weekend and maybe head out and do some driving with friends but without a set timeline I cant commit to meeting up with...

Ezalis, the map of the course was released last Saturday. Take a look at it, this will be an awesome race to spectate because you can catch the cars going down the peninsula and back up. Once the gps files are out we will know more of were the course is on the hw vs dirt next to hw, also access...
We will be expecting our first kid during those dates, so a trip for me is out of the question.
For uncle toms:
- This is a stock vehicle friendly on most occasions, unless there was a serious storm just before trip and its like 4ft of snow (unlikely). It is well traveled during winter for snow...
Yes sorry I mean Uncle toms as a winter destination, like dec/jan/feb/ whenever there is snow.
You guys can do a forest exploring day just pick a town off of 50 and start driving. I think we will be doing some driving on forest roads off of Mormon Emigrant Trail on Oct 15, always a fun...
Go the week of the race. It's fun just to spectate and hit some trails to watch the TT trucks go by.
There will be plenty of people down there to tell you where a good spot to watch is, or once the map is out take any access road to the track and watch from there.
Good gps is a must and carry...
For a winter day run, you guys should head up to Uncle Toms cabin. Snow wheel up there and grab a beer at the cabin. Pack a lunch and you usual winter equipment.
This trip is right before the Baja 1000! be careful and know people will be pre-running and chase teams on the highway.
On a side note I will be chasing for Wide Open Baja during the baja 1000. Will anyone else be down there? I will be there from Nov 12-20

I agree with having more that one unit and one being able to reach while you are inside.
I carry at least two 2.5 lbs all metal units. I always encourage fellow wheelers to buy good units. Please don't go to but a tiny plastic or 'racing' cheap thing that gives you 1-2 burst or none at all.
On...
