That is just awesome James...Calgary is an awesome place...the Rockies...the Stampede...our folks go back a few generations there...all were as tough as nails and not afraid of the cold
Welcome Wayne...Never too late to start! Calgary has a huge amount of exploring...you're gonna love getting out into the Rockies. Abandoned a 1966 Ford Ecconoline there back when I was 18...and the drinking age was the same. Crazy days with a fly rod and a mattress in the back.
Nice job Kent...obviously you're a professional. I'm opting for a battery switch...had to yank the battery out and hook it up to my solar charge controller more than once ;)
hi Mat...yes there are many cool vehicles here...but in the Province where we live they have very tight emission standards so that totally limited our options when buying.
Here's some examples from a site similar to Craigslist.
Hey thanks Sara...and I see you are new here as well. So a big welcome right back at you also. Great place to spend the winter dreaming about the next adventure!
I'm always amazed at a phone's ability to capture some mighty fine photos these days...technology just keeps getting better for this...
Hey Greg
Thanks for your input. Doing all my research now before investing...heck I don't even know if I can get a ham license here (China) but I'm gonna give it my best shot.
Anyways another questionif you have the time...would a RTT interfere with reception if setup and higher than your...
This is great guys...gonna check out what you all are recommending. First overland vehicle was a 1966 Ford Econoline...pushed that thing pretty deep when I was 17. A couple of shitbox pickups later I bought my first 4x4 at 20...a 1968 F100 shortbox. After that was always a 4x4. The one thing all...
hi Jas
yup...probably never seen one of these before. It's a Baic BJ40L (2016)...a bit of a mutt in the auto world. Built in China...has a Saab 2.3l turbo coupled to a Japanese Aisin tranny and a Borgwarner transfercase. Roof is exactly that...a 3 piece frp detachable unit. Bought it 15 months...
hey thanks Dillon...will check 'em for sure. And enjoy your concert next month. And speakin' of banjos...Steve 'n' Seagulls and The Dead South are a couple I've been fond of lately.
Thanks Dave...will definitely start a thread for our upcoming trip. Our trips are definitely more about hanging out in beautiful locations rather than covering territory. Our last trip was 5 months and covered 7000km. Dedicating large chunks of time...gotta love retirement ; )
We did come across a couple on our travels and for sure they're pretty impressive.. The manufacturer (DongFeng) is popular and provides all types of vehicles. They make a H1 type that certainly looks very capable as well
Yes...my taste has certainly mellowed over the years as well. Unplugged visions of old hits are more my style these days...but occasionally I've been known to get loud ; )
