I remember that my Mom would clean her cast iron by pouring salt on it and then using half a potato to scrub the salt in. Then rinse, dry, and lightly coat with oil.
I absolutely love cooking with cast iron but I don't normally take it with me camping. I think I am partially afraid of the care and upkeep. Even though I know that a well-seasoned piece of cast iron is just as good if not better than a non-stick pan. Something about having my precious cast iron...
Well, I just looked at Gaia and saw that you've got Wharton State Forest and PennState Forest right in the middle of the state. There should be vehicle trails around there.
Sorry to hear that. In my experience mag lights always run a but hot. There is no excuse for the poor customer service though. You should try Streamlight flashlights. I have carried a Streamlight stylus pro every day for years and have never had a problem.
We used to heat food up in the engine bay of our humvees. Guys would get very creative with stuff like that in the field. In my experience though, it wasn't worth doing over just using the MRE heaters for the same task.
I collect mugs and cups so I wind up using different stuff all of the time. Everything from a cheap plastic bubba travel mug up to the Yeti or Pelican mugs. Usually, people get them for me as gifts. I will say though that my recent favorite has been a Miir travel cup that my wife got me.
He could have been talking specifically about Swatara State Park as that is where I was talking with him. I just thought it was interesting because it isn't mentioned on their website.
What's up, everyone? I spoke with a DCNR officer today and I was asking him some questions about state parks and forests. He told me that all vehicle trails in state parks are only open one weekend a month which I had never heard before. Has anyone else ever heard of this?
I'm looking forward to seeing the tank tuck. I really want to do that to mine, but that's is the one mod I won't do myself.
I also wanted to ask how hard the adjustable high clearance long arms were to install. I have been thinking of upgrading to them over the standard long arms.
SPAM is great. I grew up eating it, SPAM on toast, Spam with eggs, SPAM burgers, etc. It's not something I eat all the time now, but I'd have no problem reaching for a can of SPAM over many other things.
Same here, I shoot steel cased Barnaul ammo out of my AK exclusively. I buy it in one thousand round cases. Part of that is due to the availability of brass cased 7.62x39 and the other part is that it works well. I've never had a malfunction while shooting that ammo. I highly recommend it.
