    Faux overlander

Their is a stolen valor type of thing going on. People claiming to have done the rubicon and camel truck competitions completing notable trails etcetera. It’s interesting because it seems that this community is pretty relaxed on these types of things. In other circles that’s a huge no no ..

    Faux overlander

I saw this video talking about people who buy a lot of equipment and stuff pretending to go overlanding but never leave pavement and just get into the idea of making it look like they do. I have a friend who drives around with hi lift jacks and max tracks in a Land Rover all the time but has...

Frame rotted out in several places

What am I missing here ? That truck looks like it was pulled out of a lake ? I have found vehicles pulled out of a field from 1970s in better shape ?

    Rig selection question

I have a friend who’s willing to sell his Land Rover discovery 1 for cheap. What kinds of issues should I expect ? I know a few People have had consistent issues.

    Has overlanding become elitist ?

Kind of ... a lot of people become suckers on gear and equipment and trendy things. I don’t buy into that . I’m to logical. I will just go off-road and upgrade what I need to. And I always make sure o get the best bang for the buck .

Why not just a brush guard?

It has two bars that go underneath and attach to the frame . As I approach something it slides on that und then tends to guide everything towards my frame. It does protect my lights and plastic junk drone debris and branches.

It hooked straight t the gram and does act as a slider . When I go over a rock i feel a lot better knowing...

    Pick-up Trucks

I couldn’t agree more . It’s interesting how we have been conditioned to believe foreign cars are better yet everybody I know who has to rely on a vehicle to get them somewhere ,they get an American truck . I have many family members with Chevy trucks with 300k miles or more on them . All rough...

    Pick-up Trucks

Set your truck up the way you need it and you will be surprised how much gear and stuff you can take. The trailer option should be last resort as it limits your off-road capability. I put a rack on top of my cab and I use plastic bins I strap if I need. I also have a tent that attaches to the...

    Pick-up Trucks

The Chevy Colorado / GMC Canyon has become a favorite for this reason. When I was looking for an overland vehicle I was looking for a midsize pick up. The Tacoma was Little small in the cab for a 6 foot tall person. The 4 banger was too weak and the v6 was ok but got horrible Milage. They were...
